W0 Prospects to Add to the Recruiting Board

<p>With 80+ games evaluated, we are finishing our coverage of week zero as we evaluate prospects who shined on Friday night. These prospects stood out and dominated their assignments, playing with determination. Here are eight prospects from different classes to add to your recruiting board. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='396381' first='Brenden' last='Simmons'] racked up 13 tackles and 3 TFLs, showcasing his sideline-to-sideline motor with good angles. Simmons was consistent and attacked his assignments with a high motor. He filled gaps, forced plays into traffic, and made tackles at the LOS or in the backfield while staying square. Overall, he displayed a good read and react ability with a quick first step to attack downhill vs. the run. Blair displayed good read and react ability, attacking downhill vs. the run quickly with good angles in pursuit. VS the pass, he demonstrated a quick reaction ability with solid fluidity and burst to arrive at the catch point and either make a tackle in space, force a PBU, or an INT. McLaughlin displayed a quick first step, allowing him to burst through gaps and quickly create separation from first- and second-level defenders. Post-snap, he has good patience and vision, enabling him to follow blockers and break through penetration. His physicality was showcased by his good contact balance, active feet, and leg drive to gain extra yards after contact. On Friday night, he had an impressive 25-yard rushing touchdown. Hayter displayed good burst and acceleration through his running lanes, separating from the first—and second-level defenders. Sturdivant displayed good initial quickness off the snap, displaying good pass protection in all pass sets due to good hand placement, upper and lower body strength and the balance and lateral agility to mirror vs defenders. He also demonstrated a strong anchor with good lower body strength, UOH, balance, solid core strength, and bend to control the opposition. During the run game, he got out in space during pulls and zone runs due to good footwork, angles, and the leg drive to displace defenders. Wilson was explosive, taking on blocks with good pad level and hand placement, and burst to shed blocks quickly and make a play. He showcased a sideline-to-sideline motor in pursuit of ball carriers. He is physical at the point of attack with good athletic ability and quickness.
