Matchups are heating up in the Upstate in Week 2, with a bunch of intriguing player matchups, including some in head-to-head games. Here's a look at some of the players we've got our eyes on this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='272708' first='Chamarryus' last='Bomar'] WR, Westside

The Rams have a wealth of talent, including a ton at the skill positions. Still, Bomar managed to set himself apart in a Week 0 win. He looks like he's quickly become one of [player_tooltip player_id='346189' first='Cutter' last='Woods']' favorite targets, and he racked up six catches for 130 yards and two scores. He also played a bunch at DB, where he'll likely be counted on a lot more as the season progresses for the Rams. That's something Westside doesn't shy away from . Playmakers Bomar, [player_tooltip player_id='272705' first='Armoni' last='Weaver'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1157819' first='Sharode' last='Richardson'] all play defense as well. They'll likely need all the bodies they can bring against a stout T.L. Hanna rushing attack. The Yellow Jackets' [player_tooltip player_id='1157743' first='Kedarrion' last='Patterson'] missed Week Zero against Byrnes with an injury, but should be back for this cross-town rivalry game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1036731' first='Dennis' last='Glenn Jr'] DL, Boiling Springs

Glenn is one of the best DL in the Upstate. He's also one of the youngest, just three games into his sophomore year. The talk about Boiling Springs has largely centered around QB [player_tooltip player_id='1012707' first='Lincoln' last='Huskey'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='1360379' first='Kyle' last='Patterson'], and rightly so, as they've had big games in the first two weeks. This week, though, the Bulldogs will see a Chapman team that's shown a renewed focus on the run, including a five-touchdown performance from [player_tooltip player_id='1732619' first='Justin' last='Dawkins'] in last week's win over St. Joseph's. Dawkins and Chapman's rushing attack will operate behind a deep, experienced OL that includes Johnny Poland and Clay Justus, and Glenn and the Bulldogs' defensive line will be the key to controlling the line of scrimmage.

[player_tooltip player_id='1639712' first='Triston' last='Lewis'] QB, Greenwood

Lewis played well in the Eagles' opening win over Beaufort, putting up a pair of TDs and using his legs almost as much as his arm. That should bode well for him against Dorman, who struggled to contain a mobile QB in the second half of Week 0's win over Greenville. Lewis will conduct the Eagles' offense behind a massive offensive line, including [player_tooltip player_id='1360096' first='Robert' last='Stevens'], who's freakishly athletic for his size. Dorman's DL, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1347290' first='Brayden' last='Melton'], will have to step up so that LBs [player_tooltip player_id='1316823' first='Dru' last='Darby'], [player_tooltip player_id='402497' first='Kentavion' last='Anderson'] and company have space and time to make plays. If he's got time and options, Lewis is capable of making opponents pay.

[player_tooltip player_id='309825' first='Grayson' last='Clary'] QB, Daniel and McLeod Darnell QB, J.L. Mann

This one might turn into a battle of gunslingers in the first month of the season. Clary has had a good start for the Lions, throwing for 386 yards and six touchdowns in just two games. He's got a ton of talent around him, with [player_tooltip player_id='986041' first='Tremaine' last='Davis'] averaging almost 100 yards rushing and [player_tooltip player_id='1360192' first='Jason' last='Bish'] doing the same at receiver. Across the line, Darnell is off to an amazing start as well. He's thrown for 470 yards and four TDs already, and like Clary, he's got a wealth of weapons at his disposal. [player_tooltip player_id='1012565' first='LaDainnian' last='Martin'] averages 5.6 yards per carry, while Toby Wilkins and Zak Stewart have right at 100 yards receiving each, and [player_tooltip player_id='1249825' first='Keyshun' last='Henderson'] has nearly twice that through two games. Both defenses are good, but Clary and Darnell might turn this one into a shootout.

[player_tooltip player_id='429920' first='Sam' last='Holliday'] QB, Fountain Inn

Holliday has been a bright spot for the Fury since stepping onto the field as a freshman, and that hasn't slowed down in his second year. He came close to helping engineer an upset over Woodruff, throwing for 143 yards and adding 116 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Holliday is a big, physical runner who also has plenty of speed, and he does a really good job of throwing on the move and running the Fury's offense. This matchup against a 5A defense gives Fountain Inn a chance at a signature win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012637' first='Jackson' last='Repp'] WR, Christ Church and [player_tooltip player_id='1025814' first='Jaiden' last='Taylor'] WR, Riverside

It's funny to watch people realize that two of the best WR in the Upstate are maybe a couple inches short and a couple pounds light. What they're NOT is a step slow. Taylor more than lives up to his nickname of Speedy, and Repp just keeps outrunning people when it looks like he shouldn't be able to. They're not just football fast, they're FAST, period. Taylor's turned into a reliable threat for Warriors' breakout star [player_tooltip player_id='463113' first='Gideon' last='Merhib'] at QB, while Repp has continued his career-long standout performance, with nine catches already this year.
