September Rankings Update: 2025 Linebackers

We have officially released another rankings update in the state of Arkansas for the class of 2025. In this article, we will showcase the 2025 linebackers with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the linebackers, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects at the position and the prospects flying under the radar:     [player_tooltip player_id='221259' first='Cash' last='Archer'] is number one on our board, and for good reason. He is a versatile prospect that defensive coordinators dream of due to his ability to play the EDGE or off-ball linebacker as he transitions through each game. Archer has racked up 14 tackles, 10 TFLs, 5 QB hurries, 3.5 sacks, 2 FF, and 1 FR in two games this season. He is a dynamic playmaker on the edge, showcasing good athletic ability, explosion and edge containment awareness outside to force the play into traffic. Good upfield burst off the LOS with the ability to pursue backside vs the run with a very good sideline-to-sideline motor. He displays very good bend, foot quickness, hand placement, hand strength, and lower body power to create leverage to read, shed, and beat his opposition, making consistent plays in the backfield. As an off-ball linebacker, his IQ, leadership, motor, and effort will make a significant impact. Good quick first step while reading and reacting instantly by attacking downhill vs. the run with good angles, staying square with physicality. He attacks through gaps quickly and effectively. Against the pass, he has a good feel in zone coverage, not allowing any opening in his zone and displacing receivers off routes, showcasing good change of direction, lateral agility, and high football IQ. He can play Mike or Will spots at the second level. Very similar to Payton Wilson. He showcases a quick first step when reacting and attacking downhill with good angles, pursuit quickness, and the ability to shoot through gaps. He has good lateral agility and a change of direction when reacting and breaking on the ball at the point of catch. Overall, he is a solid Mike linebacker in the class of 2025. His mental processing allows him to attack downhill vs. the run game with good foot speed, physicality, and angles while staying square to shed and make a play at the LOS, in space, or in the backfield. He has a good change of direction and lateral agility with awareness to lockdown his zone and play the ball. He can stay square, displays good hand placement to work off of blocks and make a stop at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. Good read and react ability with impressive feel in coverage. His ability to change direction quickly and effectively allows him to arrive at the catch point to force a PBU or make a tackle in space. His physicality and awareness is impressive. He demonstrates good read and react skills, aggressively attacking downhill quickly in space using good technique, angles, and pad level.
