September Rankings Update: 2025 Defensive Backs

We have officially released another rankings update in the state of Arkansas for the class of 2025. In this article, we will showcase the 2025 defensive backs with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the defensive backs, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects at the position and the prospects flying under the radar:     [player_tooltip player_id='428896' first='Josiah' last='Rainey'] is a Louisana Tech commit who lands at number three on our board at the position. Rainey displays good read and react ability while staying inside the hip pocket off breaks, not allowing any room for separation due to good COD, balance, and burst. His movements have good fluidity, allowing him to key on the receiver with good vision. He is a good tackler in space due to good angles and pad level. His awareness and football IQ are noteworthy. He displays good diagnostic skills in the deep thirds at the safety spot, showcasing his ability to read and react quickly when breaking on the ball and disrupting the pass or attacking downhill with good angels to make a place in space. Good hip fluidity to transition when reacting to a wide receiver breaks and clamping the route over the top. Demonstrates his hard-hitting skillset with impressive ball-tracking skills and open-field tackling. He's a hybrid defensive back who can play at multiple positions within the secondary with good awareness, speed, and athleticism. Hall displays the ability to be physical at the line of scrimmage (Press Man) with good hand fighting and strength to shut down any receiver post-snap. He can backpedal and switch his hips due to good fluidity and footwork to stay with his man vertically or on breaks. Good read and react ability, showcasing his skillset to break on the ball quickly and arrive at the catch point to force a PBU or make a play in space. Very good open-field tackler and has block-shedding ability on the outside. He can play Safety, Off/Press Man boundary corner, or Nickel/Slot with his skill set. He doesn't allow much room for separation. Demonstrates physicality and a sideline-to-sideline motor as he can blitz off the edge efficiently. He's dominant in run support with good angles and technique to tackle in space.
