September Edition: Under the Radar

Each month, Prep Redzone Arkansas highlights several players that may be flying under the radar. The month of September has a number of players that are having excellent seasons. In this article, we are going to focus on several players that have lit up the month of September.   [player_tooltip player_id='1627941' first='Blake' last='Forsgren']-Quarterback-Fort Smith Southside-6'2” 190-Pounds-2026   The Fort Smith Southside signal has opened the 2024 football season in impressive fashion. [player_tooltip player_id='1627941' first='Blake' last='Forsgren'] throws the football with impressive accuracy. He is able to fit the ball into tight windows. Forsgren has the ability to throw his receivers open. Over the first few games of the season, he is 52 of 81 for 751 yards, 13 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions. Forsgren is setting the stage for a strong conference season for the Mavericks. He is a player to watch out for over the next two seasons.   [player_tooltip player_id='1322338' first='Marlon' last='Liddell']-Defensive Line-Little Rock Parkview-6'2” 260-Pounds-2025   [player_tooltip player_id='1322338' first='Marlon' last='Liddell'] is a versatile defensive lineman that can play each position along the defensive line. He comes out of the stance quickly and forces opposing blockers back into the offensive backfield. He has the ability to disrupt the rushing attack as well as put pressure on the opposing quarterback. Liddell does not give up on a play and is a prospect that will swarm to the ball carrier. Liddell is a player to watch out for the rest of the season for the Patriots.   [player_tooltip player_id='401183' first='Catavion' last='Taylor']-Wide Receiver-Fayetteville-6'2” 180-Pounds-2026   Over the past few weeks, [player_tooltip player_id='401183' first='Catavion' last='Taylor'] has had a tremendous showing. He does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defensive backs. Taylor has the ability to get open and create a big play in the process. Last week against Texas High, Taylor hauled in two touchdown receptions. He has the ability to haul in the big receptions at key moments in games. Taylor is a prospect to watch out for as conference play gets started this week.   [player_tooltip player_id='525562' first='Ethan' last='Hurst']-Offensive Line-Van Buren-6'1” 260-Pounds-2025   [player_tooltip player_id='525562' first='Ethan' last='Hurst'] is having a breakout season on the offensive line for the Pointers this season. He fires out of the stance quickly and gets into opposing defenders. Hurst uses his hands well to redirect opposing pass rushers. In 101 pass attempts this season, Hurst has yet to give up a quarterback sack. He is an offensive lineman that has no problem clearing rushing lanes for his running backs. The Van Buren offensive lineman is a prospect to watch as the season turns toward conference play.   [player_tooltip player_id='1449788' first='Ben' last='Napier']-Quarterback-Elkins-6'1” 185-Pounds-2026   The Elkins Elks have had a great season up to this point. The Elks are executing in all phases of the game. Elkins signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1449788' first='Ben' last='Napier'] has impressive accuracy and can fit the ball into some tight windows. He has the arm strength to keep the opposing secondary from being able to crowd the line of scrimmage. Napier has a good sense of knowing when the pocket is breaking down. He uses his legs well to extend drives. Napier is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons for Elkins.
