Each week we will breakdown the state top athletes on offense and defense from all classifications, highlighting those athletes who stood out. Not all stats are always available.. Have a look at the top performers from week 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='285857' first='Nolan' last='Keeney'] QB Tualatin 25'

Keeney could very well be ranked the state's #1 recruit for the 2025 class when all is said and done. The BYU commit had the state's top stat line last year and followed that up nicely, going 9/14 for 233 yards and 5 TD's. He also rushed 5 times for 62 yards with a 65-yard TD called back. Kids a freak.

[player_tooltip player_id='769989' first='Viggo' last='Anderson'] RB West Linn 26' / [player_tooltip player_id='285868' first='Danny' last='Wideman'] WR West Linn 25'

A few months back we ranked the state's potential "breakout performers" for this upcoming season with Anderson being #1. He showed why on Saturday scoring 4 TDs, with 179 yards on 18 touches. The Ducks baseball commit Wideman continued to do his thing, catching 8 passes for 122 yards from Gilroy.

[player_tooltip player_id='152653' first='Zhaiel' last='Smith'] WR Tualatin 25'

The Idaho commit had a quiet junior season at Central Catholic before making the transfer to Tualatin. He absolutely went off in the opener returning the opening kick 97 yards for a TD, while catching 4 more passes for 143 yards and 3 TDs, in the 54-19 beatdown of Jesuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='769925' first='Oliver' last='Luebkert'] WR/S Beaverton 25'

One of the top overall athletes in the state. Luebkert went for 300 all purpose, with 210 yards receiving and a TD. He also had an INT, TFL, and a PBU on D. The Beavers lost 29-22 to 5A Central.

[player_tooltip player_id='935357' first='Josiah' last='Hawkins'] ATH Cascade 27'

If you haven't heard about him yet, you will. Hawkins is listed as one of the top 27's in the state and an unquestioned D1 kid. 4A Cascade looked like the real deal in their opener, blasting what should be a decent 5A Redmond team 47-13. Hawkins had 3 TD receptions in the victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='770006' first='Joe' last='Stimpson'] ATH Jesuit 26'

The Crusaders got thumped but one of the state's top junior's looks to be Stimpson. He caught 6 passes for 93 yards in the 54-19 loss to Tualatin.

[player_tooltip player_id='1112474' first='Riddick' last='Molatore'] LB Wilsonville 26'/ [player_tooltip player_id='1474331' first='Ben' last='Wiepert'] LB Wilsonville 27

Give reigning 5A champion Wilsonville a lot of credit defensively. Returning Oregon POY [player_tooltip player_id='511864' first='Mark' last='Wiepert']'s brother [player_tooltip player_id='1474331' first='Ben' last='Wiepert'] had an outstanding sophomore debut, making 8 tackles. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1112474' first='Riddick' last='Molatore'] was probably the player of the game on D, accounting for 11 tackles and 2 sacks in their 27-26 win over 6A Nelson.

[player_tooltip player_id='1094734' first='Landon' last='Kelsey'] WR Central Catholic 25'

Kelsey started where he left off last season after winning the state title as a junior. The Rams were super impressive, beating a good Cali team 45-29, with Kelsey catching 3 TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='285873' first='Kellen' last='Hicks'] S/WR Mountainside 25'

Hicks is a Metro League POY candidate on D. That said as he showed off his overall versatility on offense, catching 3 passes for 131 yads and a TD, in the Mavericks 24-21 loss to Silverton.

[player_tooltip player_id='285881' first='Lusiano' last='Lopez'] DL Lake Oswego 25'

From a recruiting standpoint Lopez could be the state's most underrated player on D. The 2x 1st team all TRL D lineman dominated everyone, with 4 tackles for loss in the 1st quarter alone. He was instrumental with LO forcing 3 turnovers while getting up 42-0 at half on Sunset.

[player_tooltip player_id='406774' first='Baird' last='Gilroy'] QB West Linn 25'

The unanimous 1st team all TRL QB from last year did was expected, hitting on 21/30 passes for 324 yards and 2 TDs. Gilroy showed why the Lions are a clear-cut #1 beating one of Idaho's best 51-14.

[player_tooltip player_id='274319' first='Luke' last='Baker'] ATH Clackamas 25'

Another kid who I would consider underrated. The 27-16 win over Wells wasn't super impressive but Baker was. On the night he scored 3 TDs, including a 90-yard rush, with an INT on D.

[player_tooltip player_id='904355' first='Rocco' last='Graziano'] WR/K Sheldon 25'

One of the top kickers in the West brings legit versatility to the table. The 6-2 WR had 2 TD receptions and a 44-yard FG, with the Irish looking legit in the 43-13 win over what is typically a top 10 Tigard program.

[player_tooltip player_id='739439' first='Tony' last='Cumberland'] DE Willamette 26'

I'm not sure if anyone in Oregon will be able to block but Cumberland and it certainly wasn't going to be North Eugene. The 5* Ducks commit had "Too many sacks to count" helping the Wolverines end their 12-game losing streak with a 28-0 win.

[player_tooltip player_id='511860' first='Max' last='Nowlin'] QB Scappoose 25'

Nowlin will be listed as a 4A Conference and State POY candidate heading into the season. He helped the Indians beat Greater Oregon League champ Baker 55-28, accounting for 4 TDs (3 passing) in the win.

[player_tooltip player_id='511862' first='Jake' last='White'] RB Seaside 25'/ [player_tooltip player_id='1112406' first='Ryder' last='Jackson'] ATH Seaside 26'

Seaside has one of the top 4A combos in the state, in RB [player_tooltip player_id='511862' first='Jake' last='White'] and super talented 2026 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1112406' first='Ryder' last='Jackson']. White finished with 2 TDs, with Jackson having 100+ yards and an INT return for a TD, which ended up being the difference in their 35-28-win over Junction City.

[player_tooltip player_id='613489' first='Cameron' last='Nix'] RB/S 25' North Medford

The 2x all conference defender looks to be the primary ball carrier for the Black Tornado this season. He rushed 15 times for 166 yards and 3 TDs in the team's 33-28 win over Grants Pass.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242623' first='Cavan' last='Rogers'] WR/DB Oregon City 27'/[player_tooltip player_id='1362943' first='Colin' last='Smith'] ATH Oregon City 27'

OC has a bunch of young talent coming up to go along with 3 year all conference starter [player_tooltip player_id='406768' first='Ben' last='Schneider'] at QB. [player_tooltip player_id='1242623' first='Cavan' last='Rogers'] is ranked one of the top 10 players in Oregon for the 2027 class. He finished with an INT + a fumble recovery, with 2 TDs on offense. Smith scored a TD and will be one of the better 27's in the state as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='412220' first='Maliq' last='Smith'] ATH Liberty 25'

The 2x all conference athlete made the transfer from Glencoe over to Liberty and didn't miss a beat. On the night Smith had 200+ yards, with 3 receptions for 166 receiving, and a TD in the 30-20 win over Barlow.

[player_tooltip player_id='1103474' first='Romyl' last='Luster'] ATH South Salem 25'

Luster was lights out against North Salem, finishing with 17 touches for 176 yards and 2 TD's, in the 28-6 win. We will see if the trend continues with the Valley teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='1326582' first='Kristopher' last='Baldwin'] RB Mazama 25'

The senior RB went nuts against Klamath Union in the 55-24 victory. On the night he averaged over 20 yards per carry, rushing 18 times for 371 yards and 4 TDs.
