SOUTH DAKOTA-- With the 2024 fall season in South Dakota now in full-go mode from every division, we break down our weekly list of our Big Dogs of the Week back for year four. Of course, there were tons of eye popping stat stuffers from Week 1/2 and we will do our best to get thru the bulk of them and shoutout the ones of course that the tape backs up the stats which I have to add, is crucial to put out quickly as college coaches want to see what the tape looks like versus the stats you put up as every prospect should have their game tape posted every Monday at the latest. Especially if you are a 2025 prospect that either 1) doesn't have their first offer yet or 2) feels like you are still under the radar. Let's meet Part I.

[player_tooltip player_id='321186' first='Josh' last='Myers'], RB, Sioux Falls Lincoln, SD 2025

Stat Line: 9 carries, 201 yards, three touchdowns

Josh crushed it with his open field burst and finish with his tape in Week 1 against Rapid City Stevens logging over 22 yards per carry on just nine attempts. Also, you have to give a shoutout to that Patriots offensive line as the hole size that Josh had to run thru was massive and I loved watching the development of his yards after contact he has grown from his junior season to senior season.

Aidan Sievers, QB, Deuel, SD 2027

Stat Line: 279 passing yards, three touchdowns

The Deuel Cardinals sophomore was impressive from his first look with his touch throws on intermediate routes on his way to nearly 300 yards in Week 2 against Sisseton. He constantly showed off a quick release on all three levels of the field and from a timing perspective was on time and precise to give his wide receivers plenty of penetration with getting their yards after the catch as his vision created routes that allowed them to slip by the secondary with their speed and athleticism. Aidan also showed off his deep ball strength later on tape which all in all shows off some great upside upcoming for the Cardinals quarterback with two more years under his belt to keep growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='670030' first='Waylon' last='Bolle'], RB, Corsica-Stickney, SD 2026

Stat Line: 27 rushes, 166 yards, three total touchdowns (2 rush, 1 pass)

We saw Waylon's change of direction improve nicely over the summer and in his Week 2 tape, I feel like he showed off that growth even more. His agile movement put together some fluid strides inside and outside of tackles and I saw development from that agile perspective off his first cuts solidifying his vision for the distance Waylon can finish with upfield. Waylon also got on the stat sheet for his passing too, as when the lane he wanted wasn't there he put up a jump pass over the the top of the secondary to give the Jaguars another touchdown which shows off further why Waylon's football IQ is so intriguing to me.

Devin Beuhler, QB/ATH, Hill City, SD 2025 Twitter

Stat Line: Seven total touchdowns (5 pass, 1 rush, 1 PR), one interception

One of the state's biggest stat stuffers through the first two weeks hails from Hill City 2025 athlete Devin Beuhler. He showed off some impressive deep ball arm strength and precision on one of his passing touchdowns and it's no reason why some in the NSIC are starting show some interest in this young man. In his 94-yard punt return for a touchdown the elusive athletic movement from side to side that Devin shows along with his finished burst from start to finish shows why his athleticism is just a weapon no matter where Devin is on the football field. I like the next-level fit for Devin at safety from last week's tape as he shows off a sideline to sideline presence and his positioning on the handful of reps I watched is right on queue where he needs to be. He showed off excellent penetration downhill assisting the run as although his stat line shows off highly on offense and special teams, the tape certainly intrigues me most defensively.

Garrett Hermann, QB/LB, Kadoka Area, SD 2025

Stat Line: 7/7 passing, 222 total yards (157 rush, 65 pass) three touchdowns, 12 total tackles, one interception, forced fumble

No tape up from the 6'1 195 pound athlete from Kadoka Area yet in 2024, but the tape from last season show off what a crasher Garrett is coming out of the secondary with not only his vision but his physicality on contact as a DB that will punch you right in the mouth. He shows off quick work with his hands getting off blocks and agility with his vision getting to the point of attack on queue right into the ball carrier on muliple reps I watched. I hope he posts his game tapes from this season very soon.

Stat Line: Four receptions, 132 total yards (104 receiving, 28 rushing) three total touchdowns (2 rush, 1 receiving)

Tanner is another one we wait for his game tapes to come out from this season, but since he was an 8th grader we at Prep Redzone Dakotas have continued to see his development as an offensive swiss army knife for the Elks. His change of direction I am sure was a factor in their 40-24 victory over Viborg-Hurley as on darn near every clip Tanner has you can quickly see come thru with the pass in his hands and I too have seen his persistence with it during college camp season over the past couple of years. Tanner also has impressive hands that have paid off dividends year after year for the Elks and is a wide receiver prospect I am quite surprised is an under that radar as he is although I expect NAIA schools to press the gas on his recruitment this fall for sure.

Mason Payne, OL, Sioux Falls Jefferson 2025 Twitter

The 6'5 245 pounder from Sioux Falls Jefferson was the Cavaliers offensive linemen of the week in Week 1 and certainly caught these eyes with his pass protection. The pad-level that Mason has sticks out right away as not only was it spot on consistently in the reps I watched he shows off so much balance with his hands as well as his footwork. There is not a doubt in my mind that this young man is going to be stockriser in his senior season with excellent upside that I am sure an NSIC program would love to get on campus next fall as this is only year two of him playing football which is also impressive.

It didn't take many touches for Warner 2026 running back [player_tooltip player_id='670031' first='Jesiah' last='Baum'] to make a splash. In fact, when you do the math this week, Jesiah scored a touchdown on 75% of the opportunities he was given which regardless of the competition the state champion Monarchs went up against is more than an impressive stat line from my eyes. What stuck out from Jesiah's reps on tape is how small of a window he needed to get his receptions in tight windows where he had to win the 1v1 battle. He not only won both of those 1v1 battles, but he found ways to use his well-versed lower body to gets yards after the catch and contact against Potter County. He also showed off excellent vision in his punt return touchdown as a prospect that has grown a TON this spring to now. He is certainly shows off the gut feeling that he will be a continuous nominee of our Big Dogs of the Week for the several weeks to come during this 2024 season.
