Mid-Season Stock Risers – Defense and Special Teams

<p>We are five weeks into the 2024 season within the natural state, from W0 to W4, which puts us back in the film room. This report will cover one riser within each position group of the defense and special teams. It can be a 2025 Senior all the way down to a 2028 Freshman. That said, here are five prospects that have raised their stock.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Defensive Lineman:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1389774' first='Desmond' last='Golden'] is a force in the trenches, forcing guys to double-team and creating pressure on both running and passing situations. He displays solid quickness off the snap with solid pad level, hand placement, and lower body strength to drive the OL into the pocket to create pressure or disengage blocks and make a play at the LOS. Utilizes good UOH to engage and extend to read and react, allowing him to shed towards the ball carrier. </p>   <p><strong>2024 Stat Line So Far: </strong>11 Tackles (6 Solo), 5 assists & 1 Sack</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">Note – 3.0 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DesGoldenChild/status/1838595858989789197 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Linebacker:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1506357' first='Gus' last='McConnell'] has been flying all over the field in the first half of the season. He's showcased his sideline-to-sideline motor with good angles. McConnell displays physicality at the POA, forcing multiple fumbles and tackles in space. Good read and react ability, attacking downhill vs the run while staying square or sticking to his zone. </p>   <p><strong>2024 Stat Line So Far: </strong>45 Tackles (30 Solo), 29 Assists, 3 TFLs and 1 Sack</p>   <p>Note - Multi Sport Athlete</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/GusMcconnell18 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Defensive Back: </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1506366' first='RJ' last='Estrich'] is one of the most underrated prospects in Arkansas. He's been showcasing his ball-hawking skill set. He has good athletic ability due to good foot speed, lateral agility, balance, change of direction, and burst. Good fluidity in his hips to transition in his backpedal. Estrich displays very good read and react ability, putting himself in position to make a play on the ball and arriving at the catch point to force a PBU or INT due to his COD, balance, and burst. Good sideline-to-sideline motor. Solid tackler in space with solid pad level and physicality. Estrich is someone to watch throughout 2024. </p>   <p><strong>2024 Stat Line So Far:</strong> 8 Tackles (3 Solo), 3 INTs & 4 PBUs. </p>   <p>Note - 4.1 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/rjjestrichhhh/status/1835011094353481898 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kicker: </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1425461' first='Salomon' last='Aguilar'] displays a strong leg, consistency, and ability to get his team points when needed. He also has solid accuracy and a smooth stroke from start to finish. I personally watched him at the beginning of the 2024 season when he drilled three field goals from 26, 31, and 39 yards out. He's a kicker to add to your recruiting board. </p>   <p><a href="https://twitter.com/Salomonagu2007/status/1690451282723852288/video/1">https://twitter.com/Salomonagu2007/status/1690451282723852288/video/1</a></p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Punter: </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1328075' first='Tyler' last='Scott'] is arguably the best punter in the state based on his consistency and placement. He displays a strong leg, smooth stroke, and the ability to place the ball where it needs to be. In 2024, he's averaging 40.6 yards per punt with a long of 56 and 3 inside the 20 off a total of 19 punts.
