A quick glance across the Lowcountry schools show plenty of bye weeks as we go full bore into region play starting next week. But that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of games to get excited about. We go in-depth to look at five of the top games on the docket for this week's schedule.

CHAPIN (4-0) AT SUMMERVILLE (3-0)

No question the offenses will be featured in this one. It might come down to who plays the better defense that remains undefeated for at least an additional week. Chapin is averaging 50 points per game and hasn't scored less than 42 points this season. Summerville will try to use the defensive front led by [player_tooltip player_id='1359137' first='Yasir' last='Smith'] and Nicholas Lincoln to slow the Eagles. Defensive backs [player_tooltip player_id='1253992' first='Rhyan' last='White'], [player_tooltip player_id='1578901' first='Melvin' last='Teal'] and Jadin Waring will be tested by the Chapin passing attack. [player_tooltip player_id='378969' first='Jaiden' last='Kelly-Murray'] will be counted on both sides of the ball.

Summerville had a week off but in the two full games they've played this season (one was halted at halftime), the Green Wave are averaging 43 points per game. [player_tooltip player_id='1360369' first='Gavin' last='Stam'], [player_tooltip player_id='1360035' first='Tanner' last='Short'] and Peyton Griffin will have to play their best this week to slow down that attack. Griffin has three interceptions. Chapin also has 11 sacks on the season with Jaylynn Calvin and Clinton Gentry leading the way with two each.

HAMPTON COUNTY (4-0) AT HILTON HEAD (3-1)

Hilton Head has allowed eight points in its three wins this season and has allowed only 32 points this season. A lot of that has to do with the play of [player_tooltip player_id='1578797' first='Tristen' last='Simmons'], [player_tooltip player_id='1172368' first='Andrew' last='Massey'], Will Jimenez, Nathan Apy and Caleb Spangler on defense. They fly around and made plays all over the field. Spangler has four sacks already. That allows running backs [player_tooltip player_id='1603740' first='Thaddeus' last='Czarnecki'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1013024' first='Troy' last='Timko'] to get going offensively.

Hampton County is undefeated but did allow 36 points a week ago. Malik Terry and Braydon Blake must be making plays from their linebacker spots to keep things in check. [player_tooltip player_id='809743' first='Mandrell' last='Sanders'] (pictured) is also disruptive as he already has three sacks. Jaylen Singeltary and [player_tooltip player_id='1656629' first='Tyler' last='Davis'] lead the way with two interceptions each. Singletary has also rushed for 520 yards and five touchdowns on just 48 carries. [player_tooltip player_id='1422535' first='Jayvin' last='Risher'] added 307 rushing yards and four scores.

LUCY BECKHAM (3-1) AT BLUFFTON (2-2)

Bluffton comes in on a two-game losing streak but has one of the more potent passing offenses in the area behind the play of quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1394988' first='Aedan' last='McCarthy']. The junior has 1,026 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He spreads the wealth around with [player_tooltip player_id='1578696' first='Nate' last='Ulmer'], [player_tooltip player_id='402486' first='Carnell' last='Warren'] and Roman Benjamin combining for 885 of those yards. That opens things up for sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1422587' first='Kordell' last='Holley'] (309 yards) in the running game. Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1574112' first='Kaleb' last='Gadson'] and defensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1639730' first='Chris' last='Doyle'] and Isaiah Bastian each have recorded 30 or more tackles this season. Doyle has three of the 13 sacks.

Lucy Beckham will try to counter with four running backs that each have at least 124 yards rushing. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1253938' first='Chalmers' last='Ballard'] leads the way with 296 yards rushing and 736 passing yards. Ballard threw for 267 yards last week. Trey Thompson and Tymer Garris are each over 150 yards rushing. Talmage Askins and Aiden Lentsch are the top two receivers. A pair of sophomores are the top tacklers with [player_tooltip player_id='1039208' first='Hank' last='Aeppli'] (46 tackles) and [player_tooltip player_id='1604043' first='Sullivan' last='Damron'] (33 tackles). Throw in senior Myer Daniels with 27 tackles and the Bengals are strong defensively. Aeppli and Jackson Edwards both have three sacks.

PHILIP SIMMONS (2-2) AT WHALE BRANCH (2-2)

Philip Simmons will turn to [player_tooltip player_id='1578771' first='Daniel' last='Scarth'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1592547' first='Brody' last='Tonon'] on defense to try to slow down Whale Branch. [player_tooltip player_id='1271262' first='Alex' last='Tchoryk'] and Roman Hood supply the pass rush with 4.5 sacks between them. Kolten Kellerman is turning into a ball hawk in the secondary with three interceptions and 20 tackles. Kellerman is also the leading receiver with 14 catches for 158 yards and six touchdowns. That opens things up for Travaris Walker, Daniel Porcher and Tonon to try and make the ground game effective.

The Warriors will want to counter and try to control the clock and run the football. Jermon Bowers, Jayvion Harris and [player_tooltip player_id='579278' first='Alonzo' last='Allen'] are the top ground gainers and must be effective for Whale Branch. Harris and Allen also play key roles on defense along with [player_tooltip player_id='1395023' first='I'veon' last='Watson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1788390' first='Tony' last='Broxton']. Juanpaul Tyler will also play a key role in providing run support against the Iron Horses rushing attack.

PORTER-GAUD (4-1) AT BISHOP ENGLAND (3-0)

Bishop England pulled off one of the bigger upsets last week when they knocked off Philip Simmons. [player_tooltip player_id='1592310' first='Quinn' last='Mahoney'] and Nate Anderson led the way with Mahoney rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns while Anderson added 117 yards rushing and a score. All three touchdowns came in the final eight minutes when they had to overcome a 14-0 deficit. That has been the formula for success this season. Zachary Balog is the top receiver from when Mahoney passes the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157754' first='JJ' last='Fludd'] continues to shine for the Cyclones. The senior running back is averaging over 11 yards per carry and has 870 yards and 15 touchdowns. Nolen Shuman has assisted with 314 yards rushing and 280 yards passing. Mills Knapp is the leading tackler with 56 stops and Austin Smith has chipped in with 38 tackles. Hugh Buxton, Benjamin Tolley and Daven Brown bring the pressure as well and each have two sacks.
