Another week in the Lowcountry, another set of tailbacks putting up some bonkers numbers despite a light work load.

We'll highlight several of them, as well as players at a number of other positions who had big nights of their own.

Welcome to the Lowcountry's Week 3 Game Balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165165' first='Jaylen' last='Singletary'] RB/DB, Hampton County

Much like a year ago, there's something special brewing in Varnville. Singletary is among the biggest reasons why. In the 50-36 win against Bluffton, The junior had 15 carries for 149 yards and two touchdowns (giving him 520 yards and five touchdowns on the ground this year). He also added a pair of pick sixes. Those were his eighth and ninth career interceptions.

Mason Sweigart K, May River

It's possible that we don't hear Sweigart's name for the Sharks' varsity again this year. After all, he's normally the junior varsity kicker. However, with the top squad's two kickers out of action Thursday against Brookland-Cayce, it was all Sweigart. He connected on all three of his PATs and also handled kickoff duties more than amicably. It was a nice touch for a May River squad that had three players ([player_tooltip player_id='1592214' first='Andrew' last='Johnson'], Gage Duncan and [player_tooltip player_id='1592230' first='Sean' last='Mitchell']) each eclipse 100 yards on the ground against the Bearcats.

[player_tooltip player_id='272709' first='Malachi' last='Jefferson'] DL, and Jaylen Brown-Singletary RB, James Island

Jefferson put up yet another key showing in put up nine tackles, three tackles for loss in the Trojans' 16-3 win at Cane Bay. On the other side of the ball, Brown-Singletary had the biggest impact. The 5-foot-7, 165-pound senior used 15 carries to hit 176 yards and a touchdown. It led to the James Island's second straight victory over a Class 5A program since moving up to the state's top class itself for this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1395087' first='Reid' last='McCollum'] QB, Hilton Head Christian

McCollum has turned into a one-man wrecking crew. In Friday's 42-13 win over John Paul II, he threw for 255 yards and four touchdowns (no interceptions) on 15-of-22 passing. He also put up his third 100-yard rushing game, finishing with 138 and two touchdowns. It bumped his season totals to 1,097 yards and eight touchdowns through the air and another 480 yards and four scores on the ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='1467813' first='Raymond' last='Middleton'] RB, North Charleston

Middleton has been among the most productive freshmen in the state already this fall, and he showed it again Friday in a 56-0 win over St. John's. With just nine carries, he put up 180 rushing yards and a score. It was his second 100-yard game and the third time he's averaged north of nine yards per carry in a game. Middleton has some other favorable matchups on the schedule coming up, so his chances of a 1,000-yard season are still very much alive.

[player_tooltip player_id='1094944' first='Aiden' last='Manavian'] QB, and Nate Sturm DB, Oceanside Collegiate

We've documented the Landsharks' difficult non-region slate before, and it makes what Manavian and Sturm did against Class 5A Ashley Ridge even more impressive. Sturm snagged an interception and took it back for an 81-yard touchdown. And despite missing [player_tooltip player_id='809757' first='Will' last='Virgilio'] (injury), Manavian threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns on 14-of-23 passing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165076' first='Marcus' last='Henderson'] LB, Berkeley

Berkeley was looking for its first official win over the year Friday after forfeiting its Week 0 on-field victory over Ashley Ridge due to an ineligible player. In turn, Henderson (pictured) showed once again why he's one of the top junior linebackers in the state. During the 22-0 win over West Ashley, Henderson had 14 total tackles (eight solo) and a sack. He also recovered a fumble and took it back for a touchdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='402499' first='Kymani' last='Clary'] QB, and Trevon Goss RB, Goose Creek

With all-everything tailback [player_tooltip player_id='473027' first='Meliq' last='McGowan'] still rehabbing a shoulder injury, the Gators put even more on Clary. The junior was 14-of-21 passing for 157 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for a 40-yard score. Goss, meanwhile, took advantage of his reps, finishing with 19 carries for 160 yards in the 27-12 win over Beaufort.
