Week 3 wasn't the last non-region tune-ups for teams in the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.

But if the Thursday/Friday performances were any indication, a few programs are much better prepared for the crucial portion of the regular season. We saw quarterbacks' lights come on, tailbacks put up insane yards-per-carry figures and defensive players take over.

And while the South Florence collective defensive effort warrants some attention for its performance against a strong Fort Dorchester squad, we're ready to throw out some Game Balls for Week 3.

[player_tooltip player_id='1734403' first='Luke' last='McCracken'] QB, Aynor

Normally when we're talking about anything Blue Jackets, it's run-game related. McCracken at least for one night, changed the narrative. The big quarterback was six-of-eight passing for 210 yards and four touchdowns. He added a fifth touchdown on the ground in a 50-16 win over Green Sea Floyds. One of those completions was a pop pass on an end around. Either way, it was the most passing yards for an Aynor quarterback since XXXX

[player_tooltip player_id='1013038' first='Khalil' last='Dorsey'] DL, Andrews

A week after we handed fellow Andrews edge [player_tooltip player_id='1025808' first='Chris' last='Stewart'] a Game Ball, Dorsey chased it with a huge night of his own in the win over Andrew Jackson. In the 38-21 victory, Dorsey had three sacks, six total tackles, an interception, a pass break up and fumble recovery.

Jasson Brockington and Jakari Holloman RBs, McBee

Andy Karcher must have felt like he was coaching a video game in the win over Buford. Brockington had nine carries for 263 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Holloman had five carries for 154 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, the duo combined for 10 tackles and a pass breakup (Brockington).

[player_tooltip player_id='1166986' first='Messiah' last='Jackson'] QB, South Florence

The Bruins' quarterback situation looks to be on as solid footing as its been in a year after Jackson helped ignite a monster win against Fort Dorchester. The junior was 11-of-13 passing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 60 yards and another touchdown on just four carries. Along with [player_tooltip player_id='1615112' first='Semaj' last='Parker'] - who is essentially the team's No. 6 tailback but ran for 91 yards - and a smothering defense, Jackson had his best game as the team's starter.

[player_tooltip player_id='1013062' first='Keshawn' last='Johnson'] QB, West Florence

Speaking of the light coming on, Johnson's 228 passing yards in the win over Wilson was the most any Knight had in a single game since Franklin Emerson threw for that tally against North Myrtle Beach last October. What's more, Johnson didn't throw an interception but did have four touchdowns - two to Jayaun Perkins and one each to [player_tooltip player_id='1159496' first='Terry' last='Lowery'] and Gage Herring.

Logan Galloway DB, and [player_tooltip player_id='1036752' first='Owen' last='Bex'] LB, Trinity Collegiate

Defensive proponents of the game had to have loved Trinity Collegiate's 6-0 win over First Baptist. Neither team scored an offensive touchdown, after all. Instead, Galloway returned an interception 32 yards for the game's only score. He also had nine tackles, a tackle for loss and a pass break-up. Bex also turned it on, finishing with 10 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks and a pick.

[player_tooltip player_id='1271463' first='Justin' last='Purvis'] WR, Marlboro County

We chronicled Purvis' huge Friday night already, but we're going to echo just how influential he was to the Bulldogs' victory. His 141 rushing yards and 98 receiving yards ignited an eight-minute stretch in the second and third quarters that not only kept Marlboro County perfect on the year, but doing so in dominant fashion.

Vernon Ervin LB, Lamar

On a night in which starting quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1165108' first='Zori' last='Pierce'] was forced out of the game (his protective knee brace shattered and the staff didn't want to risk him playing without it), Ervin's 13.5 tackles, one tackle for loss, two forced fumble and shared sack went a long way in the 21-14 win over Class 3A Lake City.

Noah Singletary RB, Dillon

With Dillon attempting to handle business and get in and out of its game at Marion unscathed, the Wildcats were able to build an early lead and then turn things over to several backups, including Singletary. Dillon's third-string tailback put together arguably his best game by rushing for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on just 11 carries.

[player_tooltip player_id='1592447' first='Jacobien' last='Lewis'] WR, Loris

Lewis (pictured) helped make sure that the expected blowout over North Myrtle Beach actually transpired when he broke a 7-7 tie 49 seconds into the second quarter by returning a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown. The Lions romped from there, helped out by his 17-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Lewis (three receptions, 39 yards) and Quantez Dyson (three receptions, 74 yards, two touchdowns) are proving consistent and reliable targets for quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='797160' first='Moon' last='Gerald'] (11-of-17, 178 yards).
