Thursday night presented a Ralston team riding high after a blowout week 1 victory, and a Gross team that had a disappointing week 1 loss in their Class C-1 opener. Gross dominated the line of scrimmage from the opening whistle and ran away with the game. He displayed great patience, waiting for holes to open before hitting them with a nice burst in the open field. His aggressive mentality was on full display as he consistently initiated contact rather than waiting for defenders, proving to be a tough runner to bring down. He flashed good hands on slip passes that created chunks of yards. He forced a fumble and consistently fought through blockers, showing the strength to wrap up runners with ease. Whether playing on the edge or inside, his hard-hat mentality and ability to make plays make him the type of player every team needs.     <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BleacherPreach4/status/1831877067736281245 </div></figure>      <a href="https://x.com/KSkryja71665">https://x.com/KSkryja71665</a>   I came away impressed with Skryja's speed and athleticism, especially for a sophomore. He has fantastic size and a ballhawk mentality, able to run sideline to sideline with ease. Skryja anticipates plays well, attacks gaps with precision, and his natural ability and growth give him tremendous upside. A player to watch closely in the coming years.       The lone bright spot for the Rams was Brown. He rushed for 74 yards with 20 yards receiving, while dragging down 5 bodies and causing a fumble. Brown showed he had the physicality to compete against Gross, dropping his shoulder between the tackles and generating yards after contact. He displayed excellent concentration catching the ball out of the backfield with a quick turn upfield. Brown has had an excellent start to the year, and any school looking for physcial, between the tackle runner should get eyes on him.     Honorable Mentions:   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Colton Sweetmon| QB | 2027 | 6'1" | 180 Sweetmon managed the game well. He was able to make timely passed, throwing for a couple TDs. Good size and has a mature element to his game for a sophmore</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Omaha Gross Offensive Line | [player_tooltip player_id='1815508' first='Cooper' last='Capece'] | Evan Rexin | Ryan Stuhr | Luke Davison | [player_tooltip player_id='1059080' first='Vincent' last='Linder'] Big and physical line that controled the line of scrimmage the entire night. They kept their QB clean and accounted for multiple rusing touchdowns on the night. It did not matter who was carrying the ball, they were moving Ralston defenders down the field and opening holes.</li> </ul>
