Future Rankees, Shedding Light on New Additions to Database, 9/11

<ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'3, 165 pounds</li> </ul>   The Wyoming Area sophomore's first game stat line caught my attention immediately. Nine receptions for 262 yards and two scores. Crestwood had no answer. Seeing as though Kopetchny is a new name on our site, Crestwood might've been caught off guard. In the two weeks since his fantastic debut, Kopetchny would go on to reel in another 11 receptions for over 180 yards and another pair of scores. Quite the start to the season. Can serve as the X for WA, looking at Kopetchny's tape against Crestwood, as well as his most recent tape, the kid can beat you a number of ways. Against Crestwood, it was all big plays almost a seasons worth of splash plays downfield. Verticals, streaks, posts, deep outs, comebacks, it seems like no catch brought in was under 15-20 yards. Kopetchny's most recent tape has him showing off that he can be a bit more nuanced. Hitches, slants thrown into his bag. Hands are soft, likely reliable so far. Kid is making a name for himself early. Plug on the tape and see the kind of production Southmoreland's [player_tooltip player_id='1433099' first='Elliot' last='Premus'] is putting out each Friday night and you'll quickly see how easy a sell Premus is to college coaches recruiting the area. Size checks out, good enough to build on to play several different positions at the next level. Grades check out. A three-sport athlete. What does the tape show?   Valley - Aligned at safety, two-high, reels in a duck for an interception, shows off wheels after the catch, and open-field awareness. Burns a DB in his next rep on tape. Too much stride for the DB to handle, good job tracking the football on this score. Forces a turnover on downs, tackling the punter on ST. Shows he can come down from his safety spot and play in the box, records a forced fumble on a TFL. Excellent blocker when at WR.   LH - 4 receptions for 135+ yards, 1 rushing TD. Understands gap scheme and how to let running lanes open up for him, patient runner, can hit another gear in the open space to turn singles into home runs. Aware and patient on the defensive side of the football too. Can align as an OLB in a 3-4 front, records a sack from this alignment, aligned closer to the LOS pre-snap. Plays beyond his measurables. Is a respectable 6'1, 190 pounds, yet hits like he's 220 and runs like he's 170. Another big hit on tape has him forcing fumbles. Reacts to screens well, reads and reacts before plays develop, this is a fantastic prospect who blends playing with instincts as well as IQ. Witnessed Whipple cross the football to find an IDL who outweighs him by 50+ pounds and put said IDL on his backside. This kid can do it all, block, run, seek, a steal for local D2s. Hudl suggests Whipple is up 15 pounds from his previous playing weight, stating he's 205. This explains why he's moving the way he is on tape. Would provide a high D2/ low D1 grade. Already holds an offer out of Slippery Rock.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'4, 175 pounds. 3.8 GPA</li> </ul>   Opened up the year hitting 12 of 21 passes for over 200+ yards and two scores. Second game of the year Hopper would complete 5 of 9 passes for 120+ yards and a score.   Breaking down Trinity tape - Opens tape squaring up with his out-route well, good base, delivers an accurate ball to the sideline. Looks comfortable operating out of gun/spread sets, looks to have taken the "pass" option in an RPO set, delivers a ball in close for a score. Big kid, stands tall in the pocket but can scramble a bit to create passing lanes outside of the pocket. Not a dual-threat, not a statue either. Like the rhythm and timing he plays with, throws underneath a balanced base. Could do a better job getting the ball out quicker, decision-making fine, release can be refined big time. Has several weapons to distribute the ball too, it's likely Hopper is going to rack up yards so long as he's accurate and on schedule with his footballs. A basketball participant as well, Dumm fell on my radar after reports that he accounted for 330+ yards in a win over Purchase Line, this dating back to Week One. I don't have any tape to watch, however. No tape from the other two games played either. The lack of tape likely being the reason he isn't repped on our site. 170+ passing yards, 160+ rushing yards, all in the same game, three scores to boot. Excited to watch the tape when it's out.     Love hearing there's a new name to uncover up North. This being the case at Bethlehem Freedom HS. Senior back [player_tooltip player_id='1433109' first='Aaron' last='Beete'] has been putting on a show through three games, I'm just now finding out how special this kid is.   4.0 GPA, an unassuming 5'11, 165 pounds. Beete debuted against Torrey Pines (Cal), a game in which Beete would produce 130 yards on the ground as well as a score in a game that was decided by just three points. The following week, Beete would carve up a talented Parkland defense for another 160, this time scoring twice on the night. I'm unsure of how the senior back performed last week, here's to hoping he continues on the tear he's currently on.   First-Two tape - starts tape off running out of 11 personnel. Great burst through the trenches, Beete makes a couple of DBs look silly in the open field, awareness and vision is a plus. 10.8 100M speed shows up when it's time to turn on the jets. Can beat you between the tackles, can beat you around the edge. Has angle-breaking speed, acceleration skills make it obvious he's run track in the past. Does a fantastic job jump-cutting and making the first man in the hole miss. Tougher than his 165-build suggests, can drag a few defenders downfield for extra yardage. Is a pass-catching capable back. A lot to like.
