Harken began the season with 3.5 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and 2 sacks, proving effective despite the team losing in week 1. Harken played with a consistent motor, showcasing his strength and acceleration into the backfield throughout the night. Treptow received little playing time last season, but the Cougars' unearthed his speed and athletic ability blitzing around the edge. Steen finished the game with a team high 7.5 tackles to go with 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks, coming off a junior season in which he recorded 2 total sacks that season. Boasting a 4.7 40 yard time, Steen used his speed to gain leverage outside the Tackles all night, which made him equally disruptive against the run and the pass. Steen was relentless and physical all night, throwing his body against the runners to make a stop. Alburnett showed patience and smart anticipation on reading the direction of the play, and has the confidence and speed to make the stop, even when the play was going the other way from him. Marsh also saw a lot of reps on Friday playing at Guard. Marsh has proven to hold his own and has flashed quite a bit of potential to earn a starting role on varsity as a freshman.
