As non-region play begins to wind down, we're starting to get a good feel for who will be the guys you'll want to keep your eye on, not only this week but heading into the next phase of the 2024 season – the all-important region play.

Here's 28 players to watch in Week 3 in the Catawba River Region:

[player_tooltip player_id='1575429' first='Josh' last='Ameo'] | WR | Nation Ford

Ameo had 13 receptions for 221 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons' 35-30 loss to River Bluff. He showed off his speed on a catch and run out to the flats for a score. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1575359' first='Carson' last='Sanford'] went 24-of-37 for 327 yards and four touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1734443' first='Jayden' last='Scott'] was a big target with seven catches for 76 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574007' first='CJ' last='Couch'] | QB | Catawba Ridge

Couch threw three first half touchdowns, including two to [player_tooltip player_id='1283702' first='Braylen' last='Burgis'] (pictured above) as they held off Chester in the second half to win their second straight on the road, 21-14. Burgis has gotten off to a solid start in 2024 with 22 receptions for 269 yards and three touchdowns so far (video below).

[player_tooltip player_id='1246944' first='Tanner' last='Mays'] | WR | Fort Mill

Mays caught our eye on film with his ability to block at the point of attack. He fought through contact for a 30-yard touchdown reception in the Yellow Jackets' 23-7 loss to Blythewood last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='241044' first='Finley' last='Polk'] | QB | Northwestern

Polk had another solid night last week against South Florence, and he'll be looking to [player_tooltip player_id='1267334' first='Kameron' last='Vance'] and [player_tooltip player_id='753896' first='Jayden' last='Nichols'] again this week with a big city rivalry against South Pointe.

[player_tooltip player_id='473002' first='Cameron' last='McMillon'] | QB | South Pointe

McMillon made his highly anticipated debut in a Stallions' uniform against Ballantyne Ridge in a 63-0 rout and it went well. He threw one touchdown to [player_tooltip player_id='1476906' first='Kadin' last='Vassel']. It was also a strong night for [player_tooltip player_id='1157761' first='Mason' last='Picket-Hicks'], who had two rushing touchdowns including a 42-yard run to end the first quarter.

[player_tooltip player_id='809751' first='Ian' last='Grissom'] | QB | Rock Hill

Grissom saw the field in the Bearcats' 32-23 win over Lancaster last week, helping the Bearcats get their first win of the 2024 season. He threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to [player_tooltip player_id='1036779' first='Kaiden' last='Watkins']. He also ran for a touchdown as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1254139' first='Zy'on' last='King'] | DB | Rock Hill

King had a pick six with a great break on the ball, and showed his ability to jump and make a play on the ball. This is a trend that we've seen from him the first couple of weeks from his film. He can diagnose plays quickly and get into the backfield and has been a key contributor for the Bearcats' defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1165128' first='RJ' last='Brown'] | QB | Lancaster

Brown had touchdown runs of 15 and 1 yard in the Bruins' loss to Rock Hill.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012627' first='Landon' last='Stone'] | RB | Clover

Stone returned to the line up last week in a 48-12 win against Palisades. He looked strong with 21 carries for 148 yards and one touchdown. [player_tooltip player_id='402485' first='Cameron' last='James'] led the Blue Eagles in receiving with five catches for 55 yards. [player_tooltip player_id='1603816' first='Grady' last='Stone'] is a viable asset for the offense as he had a 17-yard receiving touchdown, to go along with 17 yards rushing.

Tyler Chapman | DB | Clover

Chapman led the Blue Eagles defense with six tackles and two pass breakups last week against Palisades. Sam Lee and Jaiden Woodruff had four tackles respectively. Lee forced a fumble while Woodruff had a sack.

Bryce Adams | QB | Chesterfield

Chesterfield is 3-0 following a tight 34-33 win over Lee Central last week. Adams has had a huge role in where the Rams are currently under coach Matt Quinn. He threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns, including two to [player_tooltip player_id='1367995' first='Emani' last='Welch'] with receptions of 1 and 30 yards. TJ McBride and JaQuavis Clark each had one, respectively. Clark led the Rams with 114 yards receiving.

Terrell Robinson | Chesterfield

Robinson had two interceptions to lead the Rams defensively. Sincere Hubbard had 16 assisted tackles and one tackle for loss.
