Alabama 2029 Prospects Impressing Early

<p>There's a ton of football talent in the state of Alabama and that ability starts to show itself early. Below are a handful of 2029 prospects that have looked good during the opening week or weeks of the 2024-2025 season/cycle. While these athletes are standing out for their local junior high or middle school programs, the majority of them will be suiting up for perennial high school powerhouse programs in less than 12 months. Take a look.</p>    <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Big two-way lineman who translates best to being an interior Defensive Tackle as he progresses</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Powerful big man that can recreate the line of scrimmage with a simple bull rush</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>As of September 2024 he lists himself at 6-foot-1 and 280-pounds </li> </ul>     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Super athletic QB who also plays basketball at a high level, helping Calera Middle School to a Southern Conference championship last year as a 7th grader</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Right-handed prospect who throws a beautiful deep ball. Makes the pass look effortless and drops it into a bucket with regularity</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>As of September 2024 my only question on Whatley is his size, as it is not listed. He looks to be average in height, but also has more than adequate muscle </li> </ul>     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Southpaw Quarterback with elite quickness in the pocket. Routinely easily escape clutter and finds his way into free real estate</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Already has a knack for changing arm angles and finding those quickly-closing passing lanes</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>As of September 2024, he lists himself at 5-foot-10 and 150-pounds--which <em>might</em> be a bit of a stretch. Regardless, his play on the field speaks volumes right now</li> </ul>     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Was an All-Metro selection at Wide Receiver for the 2023-2024 season a year ago, as a 7th grader for Thompson Middle School</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>In Thompson's first game of the year, a 14-8 victory over Mountain Brook, Coleman had 4 grabs for roughly 70 yards and a pair of touchdowns--all in the fourth quarter</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>He's unquestionably a talented WR who can make some big, explosive plays. He's also considered one of the best baseball players in the state too</li> </ul>     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Was the lone All-Metro selection at Offensive Line for the 2023-2024 season a year ago, as a 7th grader for Hewitt-Trussville Middle School</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Ellis wakes up every morning and seemingly chooses violence on the football field. He's a mauler as an Offensive Tackle and likes to punish the defense by serving up pancakes</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>A year ago he was listed at 6-foot and 195-pounds, but looks even bigger this season on film. He's athletic enough to make hard reach blocks on speedy Defensive Ends and physical enough to drive big interior guys off the ball</li> </ul>
