2027 Rankings Update: New Additions

The Class of 2027 rankings update wasn't complete until we added 35 new names to the list.   Most of these players are already rising up their respective teams' readiness charts, and a few of them are even already in starring roles.   Here's a snippet on why and how each of these 35 now have a number next to their names in our system.   ATHLETES & SPECIALISTS   [player_tooltip player_id='1290615' first='Jaylon' last='Richardson'] ATH, Catawba Ridge - Richardson is a true triple threat in the making. He's a returner, defensive back and receiver.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422623' first='DQ' last='Green'] ATH, Lamar - Green has already earned a starting spot at linebacker; simultaneously, he's sprinkled in at tailback, too.    [player_tooltip player_id='1214316' first='Charles' last='Anthony Williams'] ATH, Bamberg-Ehrhardt - Williams is frequently doing the little things that allow his teammates to put up big numbers.   [player_tooltip player_id='1422535' first='Jayvin' last='Risher'] Hampton County - Risher has already put in significant time at tailback and linebacker and looks to closing in on a starring role.   [player_tooltip player_id='1422557' first='Henry' last='Phillips'] K, Mountain View Prep - Phillips has a monster leg and has already put it to good use. He's a weapon the Stars will utilize often.   DEFENSE   [player_tooltip player_id='1274260' first='Bryson' last='Bowers'] LB, West Ashley - After this year's class graduates, Bowers immediately steps into a starring role; in fact, it might happen even earlier.   [player_tooltip player_id='1422637' first='Corey' last='Murphy'] DB, Lugoff-Elgin - The first three games of Murphy's sophomore season netted him three picks and five pass break-ups.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422635' first='Anthony' last='Strong'] DL, Cheraw - At just shy of 6-foot-4, Strong can disrupt passing lines and seal the edge all at the same time.   [player_tooltip player_id='1426798' first='Cameron' last='McCue'] DB, Berkeley - McCue is a tenacious tackler and has no issue taking on bigger ball carriers.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422631' first='Fisher' last='Saylors'] LB, Pendleton - Saylors is a versatile linebacker who is bolstering several portions of the Bulldogs' defense.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422617' first='Jackson' last='Conner'] LB, Indian Land - If Conner averages nine tackles throughout the season, Indian Land will be just fine.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422604' first='Jailyn' last='Broughton'] DL, Cross - Also a starting offensive lineman, Broughton may very well lead the Trojans in sacks this fall.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422601' first='Wytrayvious' last='Dugar'] DB, Strom Thurmond - He's already two inches taller than he was a season ago, and had 11 tackles in his first two games.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422598' first='Zavier' last='Polite'] DL, May River - Polite is undersized long term for a big-class defensive lineman. Then again, it hasn't stopped him from making a huge impact already.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422592' first='Caleb' last='Pinkney'] DB, River Bluff - With a little bit of size and strength, Pinkney could easily turn into a Division-I recruit by the time he graduates.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422589' first='Peyton' last='Bishop'] DL, AC Flora - After a strong freshman campaign at Keenan, Bishop is contributing early with the Falcons.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422583' first='Khalil' last='Levine'] LB, Cross - Levine's an understudy for now. That won't last, as he appears to be primed to build on his supporting status.   [player_tooltip player_id='905534' first='Jaden' last='Ashe'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1422580' first='Kaiden' last='Walton'] DL, Marlboro County - Either one of these guys could be first-off-the-bus types. Their progress over the next two-plus years could be absolutely special.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422524' first='Josh' last='Dobson'] DB, Catawba Ridge - A strong offseason landed Dobson eight Power 4 offers. He has all the physical tools for the position.    OFFENSE   [player_tooltip player_id='1422638' first='Cameron' last='James'] RB, South Florence - Rushed into action, James gave us a glimpse of the future in back-to-back games.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422632' first='Makel' last='Stephens'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1422629' first='Roderick' last='Purcha'] RBs, Loris - Both sophomores are averaging north of 11.5 yards per carry, putting up touchdowns and then giving way to back-ups.   [player_tooltip player_id='640683' first='Kevin' last='Johnson'] QB, Fort Dorchester - Johnson is getting time to learn the position while sharing the backfield with a top-flight tailback.    [player_tooltip player_id='1153356' first='Ashton' last='Thompson'] OL, AC Flora - Thompson's star will only continue to rise right along with an offense that looks to be ready to break out.    [player_tooltip player_id='755890' first='Amire' last='White'] RB Irmo - White won't have to be the guy this year, but he's getting touches and producing when asked.    [player_tooltip player_id='463113' first='Gideon' last='Merhib'] QB, Riverside - The 12 touchdowns against zero interceptions while passing for 761 passing yards is a huge start.   [player_tooltip player_id='1422610' first='Jack' last='Armstrong'] OL, Gray Collegiate - The Eagles' starting center has room to grow, but he's already got a firm grasp of the assignment.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422608' first='Hunter' last='O'Neal'] RB, Keenan - O'Neal's numbers (388 yards, 10.8 yards per carry) through his first three games are no joke.    [player_tooltip player_id='1321038' first='Justyn' last='Joint'] RB, Cheraw - Joint is a bit of a project still, but he's a project with good size and a developing trust. That makes him one to watch.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422587' first='Kordell' last='Holley'] RB, Bluffton - Holley has already proved to be a nice addition to the pass-first Bobcats' scheme with his ground production.    [player_tooltip player_id='1426796' first='Marques' last='Skinner'] OL, Riverside - Big right tackle picked up his first college offer last week, and it was from a Power 4 school.    [player_tooltip player_id='1215391' first='Jayven' last='Williams'] RBs, Summerville - Williams (pictured) is further proof that Summerville is in a cycle of reloading.    [player_tooltip player_id='1223929' first='Markest' last='Davenport'] OL, Calhoun County - The 6-foot-4, 330-pound tackle will be turning heads for years to come.    [player_tooltip player_id='1422528' first='Maleek' last='Miller'] WR, Irmo - Miller has stormed into 2024, catching at least five passes in each of his first three games.
