2027 Rankings Update: Defensive Backs Breakdown

<p>We have officially released another rankings update in Arkansas for the class of 2027. In this article, we will showcase the 2027 defensive backs with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the defensive backs, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects and the players flying under the radar:</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1206735' first='Terriun' last='Jones'] takes over as number one on our board in a highly anticipated DB class. Good athletic ability due to good foot speed, foot quickness, change of direction and lateral agility. Good read and react ability to break on the ball quickly and force PBU's. He's physical in Press, slowing down routes and displacing them. Jones doesn't allow much room for separation off breaks due to good awareness, COD, balance, and burst to stay inside the hip pocket. Willing tackler in space. He lands at number three on our board. Jenkins showcases a sideline-to-sideline motor, boasting good speed and lateral agility in the backend. He displays good pre-snap and post-snap recognition, quickly reacting to the ball whether underneath or off breaks. He is a proficient open-field tackler with physicality and good technique. He displays good footwork, solid fluidity, and the technique to backpedal quickly with balance and control, as well as the ability to transition and get vertical. He lands at number six on our board and is rising. He's a fluid athlete with a good sideline-to-sideline motor that showcases his good foot speed, and fluidity with good angles. His change of direction ability enables him to transition quickly and get vertical with the wide receiver or stay inside the hip pocket on a break without allowing any room for separation. Solid recovery speed along with good ball skills and use of hands to shed blocks or jam. Hill has good read-and-react ability, highlighted by his COD, lateral agility, and burst, enabling him to attack downhill vs the run or arrive at the catch point to force a PBU or INT.
