It's time to look at some young up and coming big men in the state of Texas. These class of 2027 and 2028 standouts are all varsity contributors and impressed me with their play early on this season. As of right now, they don't have any scholarship offers, but it's still early on in their careers and that could change in the blink of an eye. Look for them to continue to develop and be anchors on their o-line in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1772862' first='Luke' last='Wilson'], 6'6" 240, Southlake Carroll, SO

Luke has a great frame he should be able to fill out over the next two off-seasons and he's a natural knee bender who strikes his opponent on a rise. He's got quick feet, easy redirect skills, a clean pass set, and can lock onto defenders at the second level. He gets his second step in the ground fast, he doesn't lunge in his pass set and keeps his eyes up waiting to pass off twists and stunts. His best ball is ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546609' first='Maxx' last='Jones'], 6'4" 275, Lewisville, FR

Maxx is the lone 2028 prospect on this list and he's more than deserving to be on it. Maxx plays aggressively through the echo of the whistle, he's got bear paws to easily lock onto a defender and has a strong punch at the point of attack. His feet keep churning after initial contact and he's got light feet that will help him continue to develop as a pass protector.

[player_tooltip player_id='465792' first='Brayden' last='Wood'], 6'3" 280, Braswell, SO

Wood has a strong anchor he can sit back into to defend against an opposing bull rush, he fights for inside hand placement and can displace down linemen on his own. He's quick out of his stance on down blocks, shows plenty of raw upper-body play strength, and can generate first-level knockdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='1248311' first='Valentine' last='Akidi'], 6'2" 285, Lakeview Centennial, SO

A center prospect who uses his leverage to his advantage, Valentine plays with an edge to him and looks to finish every block he makes. He's a very talented pass protector with exceptional grip strength and violent hands on contact. He's a little undersized, but he makes up for it with nastiness and technique.

[player_tooltip player_id='661298' first='Noah' last='Smith'], 6'4" 305, Iowa Colony, SO

Smith can easily work off double teams up to the second level, he fights for inside positioning in pass protection and can reset his hands if his initial punch misses. He's another guy with plenty of upper-body strength and can overwhelm smaller defenders with his pure size. He needs to continue to work on his footwork, but I like his upside.
