Violent hands with good placement, shows he can separate from blockers and then shed to free himself up for a tackle. Gets quick penetration as a pass rusher to force the QB to escape the pocket. Also effective playing OL for one of the top programs in the east bay. Plays with good eye discipline and a high football IQ to diagnose run/pass and anticipate where the ball is going. Covers a lot of ground with his short area acceleration and long speed. Constantly attacking the ball he flies around with a high motor and is relentless in pursuit. Not afraid of contact, he's a strong tackler in the secondary or coming downhill in run support. High level balls skills with ideal length to extend out to catch the ball outside his framework. Smooth athleticism and body control at his size. He's able to drop his hip level and transition out of his break to accelerate after directional changes. Attacks the ball in the air and leaping ability allows him to go up and out compete opponents at the high point. Strong and well-built frame at 6'1” 195 lbs. Good speed, he's got burst in the short area and a sustained second gear to stay in phase at all three levels on defense. Great ball skills on both sides, he's a strong hands catcher and shows he can track it in flight and time out his jump. Love his field awareness and route recognition as a cover guy. Plays hard and initiates contact with good thump at the POA.
