<p>A few teams from the Lone Star State were in action this past weekend, and they most certainly had some standouts. We saw some impressive performances on both sides of the football in what is only week zero of the 2024 season! Look for these young men to continue to be names to watch. It's gonna be one fun fall!</p>

<p><em>ATH: Owen Wilkins, 6" 190, Tomball Christian</em></p>

<p>A talented two-way player at both running back and linebacker. In game one against Atlas, he rushed for 119 yards, and two touchdowns on just five carries. That comes out to an eye-popping 23.8 yards per carry. On the defensive side of the football, he also chipped in two sacks for Tomball Christian. Tomball Christian defeated Atlas by a final score of 23-0. </p>

<p><em>QB: Kohein Jergenson, 6'4" 180, Northside Lions Sports Association</em></p>

<p>An athletic quarterback prospect that threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns through the air, while adding another two on the ground. On the defensive end, he used his size and range to chip in two interceptions as well. This is a young man who could be in store for a monster junior season, as he threw for 3,395 yards and 51 touchdowns last fall. </p>

<p><em>WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1334346' first='Tyson' last='Davis']6'5" 205, Dallas HSAA</em></p>

<p>A long strider with a great frame, and serious upside. Davis put up quality numbers on Friday, totaling 134 yards receiving and one touchdown on just four catches. The homerun threat averaged 33.5 yards per catch on his way to helping Dallas HSAA defeat Lighthouse Christian out of Missouri 28-7.</p>

<p><em>WR: Mark Phillips, 5'8" 150, Northside Lions Sports Association</em></p>

<p>A small shifty prospect that had himself a game. On Friday, Mark finished with six catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the football, he tallied eleven total tackles in Northside's 42-34 win over Christian Home Educators Fellowship.</p>

<p><em>ATH: Deklen Kearney, 5'9" 180, Northside Lions Sports Association</em></p>

<p>A smaller athlete who can make big plays on both sides of the football. On offense, he rushed for 100 total yards and one touchdown. Flip to the defensive side, Deklen finished with a whopping 15 tackles and one tackle for loss in Friday's win over Christian Home Educators Fellowship.</p>
