Week Zero Scouting Report

<p>The opening week of Arkansas high school football commences this week, with week zero matchups slated for Friday, August 30th. Moving forward, our weekly scouting reports will include detailed analyses of key players to monitor for the week in question and potential risers or promising prospects who may not have garnered significant attention thus far.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1404686' first='Geondre' last='Cheeter'] and the Little Rock Hall Warriors are set to face Dardanelle in an away game this Friday. As a track sprinter, Cheeter showcases his abilities on the field, utilizing his acceleration and foot quickness to cover ground quickly. He effectively employs his good change of direction, quickness, burst, and balance to create separation during his breaks. Solid hands and good hand-eye coordination. Jones showcases his versatility in playing defensive back and wide receiver. Defensively, he displays good diagnostic abilities, quickly reading and reacting and breaking on the ball effectively at the catch point to force a PBU or make a tackle in space. He plays aggressively and physically, demonstrating a strong sense of both man and zone coverage, coupled with the ability to change direction and lateral agility for smooth transitions. His open-field tackling is solid, marked by good awareness and angles. Orellana, a fullback, exhibits impressive lower body strength and power, which allows him to maintain his balance and push through contact to gain additional yards. He possesses solid post-snap vision, which enables him to read the first-level defenders and identify the running lane to burst through. This week, Helena will face Watson Chapel on the road. Miller is an intriguing prospect who excels at making defenders miss in space due to his good lateral agility, change of direction, and quickness. He also demonstrates solid foot quickness at the snap with solid route running to create separation over the top or on breaks. This upcoming Friday night, Stuttgart will face Lonoke on the road. Conway displays good acceleration and bursts through the first level of defense. He maintains good contact balance and body control, allowing him to break tackles and gain positive yards in both the run and pass. A fluid athlete with good lateral agility and change of direction, Conway is capable of making multiple cuts with good vision to locate the opening and burst through. Additionally, he is a threat in the passing game due to his smooth route running, reliable hands, and burst post-catch.</p>   <p>Note - 3.5 GPA</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/kevonconway/status/1826486724974748035 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Matchup to Watch: RB [player_tooltip player_id='1396707' first='Kiandrea' last='Barker'] (Newport) vs RB [player_tooltip player_id='1155131' first='TJ' last='Hodges'] (Marked Tree)</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1396707' first='Kiandrea' last='Barker'] recently transferred from the Woodlands in Texas to Newport this spring, which will face Marked Tree in the week zero matchup. As a three-star running back, Barker is well-rounded with very good speed, power, and elusiveness. He possesses very good post-snap vision to read defensive fronts and first-level defenders, allowing him to attack the hole with a good burst quickly. Barker exhibits good patience behind the line of scrimmage, following blockers effectively. He has a multi-cut ability with good acceleration to separate from the first and second levels after making his cut. Additionally, he demonstrates a good change of direction and vision, quickly locating cutback lanes and getting upfield. Barker possesses very good balance, enabling him to withstand contact and maintain active feet. As previously mentioned, Marked Tree is set to face off against Newport on Friday evening, featuring some of the top running backs in the nation. Hodges is a four-star running back who possesses a well-rounded skill set, demonstrating both speed and physicality at the point of attack. He possesses very good post-snap vision, allowing him to quickly read defensive fronts and exploit holes with a burst of speed. Hodges also displays good foot quickness, agility, and change of direction, enabling him to navigate through gaps and make cuts in the backfield effectively. He maintains good balance and can withstand contact, utilizing active feet and leg drive to power through defenders.
