Just like last season we will break down the 6A top 15 each week, giving point spreads and predictions for each contest. It can be hard to gauge week 1 but have a look at the state's top games and who is favored.

-20.5 #1 West Linn @ Eagle, ID

The Lions will play a solid Eagle, Idaho team that went 10-1 last season to start the year. Even with their success I see the Lions breaking it open early with multiple TDs coming via the [player_tooltip player_id='406774' first='Baird' last='Gilroy'] to [player_tooltip player_id='285868' first='Danny' last='Wideman'] connection.

Central Catholic CA @ #2 Central Catholic -6.5

Central Catholic of California went 9-3 last year playing a tough schedule. They return some talented kids including RB Joey Alcutt who went for close to 1600 yards and 15 TDs. The reigning state champs got a 35-15 victory over Leiehua, Hawaii in their opener, but will face a much tougher Cali program this coming week.

-23 #3 Lake Oswego @ Sunset

Definitely one of the most intriguing matchups of week one, with two of Sunset's top players transferring to Lake O in QB [player_tooltip player_id='402409' first='Hudson' last='Kurland'] and LB/RB [player_tooltip player_id='1059015' first='Justin' last='Craigwell']. The Lakers are already loaded with top RB [player_tooltip player_id='402416' first='Lamarcus' last='Bell'] leading the way. This could be a tough one for the Apollos.

Jefferson @ #4 Lakeridge -51

Look for the Pacers to be up by 40+ at half.

(#3 5A)Silverton @ #5 Mountainside -17.5

The 5A Foxes return a bunch of talented kids led by QB [player_tooltip player_id='511861' first='Sawyer' last='Teeney']. That said as it's hard to compete with a top 6A program like Mountainside who is maybe the fastest rising program in Oregon. Look for the Mavericks to put up a lot of points led by their special 2026 class.

#6 Jesuit @ #7 Tualatin -3.5

Likely the 6A game of the night. BYU commit and top Oregon QB [player_tooltip player_id='285857' first='Nolan' last='Keeney'] will lead the T-Wolves at home against Jesuit QB [player_tooltip player_id='238435' first='Treynor' last='Cleeland'], a UC Davis commit. Both teams graduated a ton of talent from last year so it will be interesting to see which athletes step up.

#10 Tigard @ #8 Sheldon -8.5

Historically two of Oregon's top programs. Both teams will feature new head coaches with a host of talented underclassmen on each roster. Look for future D1 LB [player_tooltip player_id='527032' first='Mana' last='Tuioti'] to step up at RB and for the Irish young guys to play a key role.

#9 Nelson @ Wilsonville (#1 5A) -1

The key for the reigning 5A state champs will be to keep 4-year starter [player_tooltip player_id='285852' first='Avirey' last='Durdahl'] in check, along with UW D line commit [player_tooltip player_id='527045' first='Dominic' last='Macon']. If they can do so they might squeak out a win over a super talented Nelson group.

Roosevelt @ #11 Sherwood -24

The Roughriders have a chance to win the PIL but week 1 won't be easy against a good Bowmen program at home. Look for RB [player_tooltip player_id='1103727' first='Wilson' last='Medina'] to continue his tear from the last two seasons and QB [player_tooltip player_id='153870' first='Jackson' last='Bell'] to be one of the state's breakout performers.

Grant @ #12 Oregon City -20

OC has some veteran leadership with three-year starter [player_tooltip player_id='406768' first='Ben' last='Schneider'] at QB. The well coached Pio's should handle Grant even with them potentially finishing last in the TRL.

Grants Pass @ #13 North Medford -22.5

The Black Tornado seem to always have dudes but haven't been able to advance in the playoffs in recent years. QB [player_tooltip player_id='402426' first='Traeger' last='Healy'] is back after an outstanding sophomore year with D1 D line recruit [player_tooltip player_id='287053' first='Trey' last='Kennedy Coleman'] projecting as a POY candidate.

Sprague @ #14 West Salem -5

QB [player_tooltip player_id='285871' first='Kaden' last='Martirano'] has transferred to West Albany, but the Titans of West Salem are led by one of Oregon's all-time best coaches in Shawn Stanley. West laid it on Sheldon 42-21 last year at the end of the season with all everything 2026 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='769995' first='Evan' last='Wusstig'] being that good. This is still a wait and see as the season could go either way. The Oly's of Sprague looked good in week zero beating Newberg 42-27.

-19.5 #15 Clackamas @ Wilson

The Cavs took a step back after Nelson HS was opened but still have some talented kids coming through. [player_tooltip player_id='274319' first='Luke' last='Baker'] has a chance to be a 1st or 2nd team all-state guy as week 1 shouldn't be close.
