With high school football coming back this month, we take a look at some of the best offensive Trios within class 5A. Class 5A will be split into two lists. This list includes strictly skill players so apologies to the offensive line!

Iowa City High

[player_tooltip player_id='1205114' first='Bobby' last='Bacon']

[player_tooltip player_id='983337' first='Parker' last='Sutherland']

[player_tooltip player_id='1279961' first='Connor' last='Cross']

The Little Hawks return a trio of productive playmakers. Bacon is one of the best QB talents in the state and has a big mismatch target like Sutherland to throw too. Add on a versatile playmaker like Cross and the little Hawks can be dangerous on all three levels in an offense.

Iowa City Liberty

[player_tooltip player_id='988861' first='Sutton' last='Koller']

[player_tooltip player_id='1129677' first='Dallas' last='Miller']

[player_tooltip player_id='1196514' first='Collin' last='Decker']

[player_tooltip player_id='1278898' first='Owen' last='Drapeaux'] could've gone on here as well, due to his playmaking ability out of the backfield. However, the final spot had to be Decker. The Lightning has a trio of receivers that arguably can make a case for the best-receiving core in the state. The production of Miller and Koller alone speaks for itself but add on a sure-handed and big down-the-field target like Decker and this offense might be very hard to stop come fall.

Iowa City West

[player_tooltip player_id='245608' first='Jack' last='Wallace']

[player_tooltip player_id='1361552' first='Butali' last='Butali']

[player_tooltip player_id='847948' first='Mason' last='Woods']

Wallace is one of the better arm talents in this class and with Woods running deep, this connection has already been tough to stop. So another season of them will only get better. Butali adds the element of the run game in there with his productive work-horse mentality.

Ottumwa

[player_tooltip player_id='252336' first='Cameron' last='Manary']

RB - Koby Chathalavanh (SR)

QB - Matthew Mitchell (SR)

In a very run-heavy scheme, these three made the Bulldogs offense click. Each player rushed for over 500 yards and was versatile in their production. With this trio said to be in the backfield again it can be dangerous for opposing defenses.

Valley

[player_tooltip player_id='283946' first='Jayden' last='McGregory']

[player_tooltip player_id='847993' first='Darius' last='Mason']

[player_tooltip player_id='847795' first='Xzavion' last='Robinson']

Another program with multiple weapons, it was hard to narrow it down to just three. [player_tooltip player_id='283945' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] and Drake Degroote were people to consider but the other three are more experienced. With McGregory and Robinson on the outside, it'll be hard to stop the duo in the passing game given both of these athletes' ridiculous athleticism. Furthermore, Mason shined when splitting reps with Damon Head last season, so with the backfield pretty much to himself, he'll be able to take that next leap.

Waterloo West

RB - Ben Frazier (SR)

QB - [player_tooltip player_id='1581831' first='Brady' last='Dean'] (SR)

[player_tooltip player_id='1234336' first='Deztin' last='McMurrin']

Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1581831' first='Brady' last='Dean'] is an efficient passer who knows how to spread the love and doesn't turn the ball over. Frazier is a skilled three-down back who possesses adequate playmaking ability and McMurrin is a deep threat with a lot of potential. If these three can build off last year's season, expect their numbers and production to skyrocket.

Waukee

[player_tooltip player_id='1240560' first='Beckett' last='Bakker']

[player_tooltip player_id='1280894' first='Maverick' last='Inman']

[player_tooltip player_id='1279995' first='Grant' last='Gammell']

Yes, the twin skyscrapers [player_tooltip player_id='1198217' first='Sage' last='Yazzie'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1221928' first='Evan' last='Jacobson'] are both valuable and ideal options to be on this list. However, it respectfully isn't always about size. Bakker is a duel-threat athlete who is a magician behind center and with playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='1279995' first='Grant' last='Gammell'] beside him, the warrior's back is already dangerous. With the addition of Inman, Bakker now has his WR1 for the season who is just as dangerous, perhaps even more because of the skillset he now brings to the offense.
