This Could Be New Smyrna Beach’s Year

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After six games of the 2023 high school football season, New Smyrna Beach and veteran head coach <strong>John Wilkinson</strong> stood at 5-1. However, the final four games produced just one win, but kept the Barracudas in the state playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While they lost to the same Orange City University program they had beaten earlier in the season, it sent this team into the off-season feeling confident.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you have followed Coach Wilkinson's past, you already know that he develops, coaches and teaches his football players and sends them on to the next level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Since arriving from a more than successful run at Cocoa, pushing the Tigers into the national picture, he has led this program to a 40-24 record.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At the recent<strong> <em>Florida Citrus Sports Media Days</em></strong> at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, he and his returning players were extremely anxious to get this season going.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Competing in District 6-4A, there will be some quality programs, such as Rockledge, Deltona, Deltona Pine Ridge and Daytona Beach Seabreeze – but certainly
