Who are some sleeper 2025 pass-rushers to know about this fall?

[player_tooltip player_id='1158121' first='Jayden' last='Rubbo'] - Thomas County Central

One of the more underrated defenders across South Georgia heading into the 2024 season, Rubbo is a playmaking machine who is coming off an incredibly productive junior season last fall, helping lead his Thomas County Central team to the 6A state championship. Playing alongside several outstanding defenders, Rubbo made an big impact on a weekly basis, earning 1st-Team All-Region honors last year. He was a tackling machine making 108 tackles and an eye-opening 21.5 TFLs, but his ability to attack and chase down the quarterback is why he's one of the top sleeper pass-rushers across the state in the 2025 class. In addition to forcing four fumbles in 2023, Rubbo made an impressive 7.5 sacks and pressured the quarterback 15 more times. He's a smart, instinctive linebacker who plays hard every play, and it showed up on tape last year. He's a defender who can do a little bit of everything, and that includes being a pass-rushing machine. Look for him to have a giant senior season this fall.

Kane Byrd - Veterans

One of the top sleeper pass-rushers in Middle Georgia, Bryd is a physical, hard-hitting defender who can play outside linebacker or with his hand in the ground on the edge. Either way, he showed explosiveness off the snap with the ability to shed blocks and attack the ball-carrier. He brings impressive burst off the edge and has a natural ability to rush the quarterback. As a junior last fall, Byrd showed he can get to the quarterback on any particular play, coming away with seven sacks on the season with 12 more quarterback pressures. He also made 55 tackles on the season with 14 more TFLs. He made play after play in the backfield and knows how to deliver a strong tackle when he hits the quarterback. He brings an impressive combination of strength and burst at 6-foot-2 220-pounds with the potential to light up the stat sheet and deliver even more sacks as a senior in 2024.

Beedjy Guerrier - North Cobb Christian

An under-the-radar defensive lineman with good size and strong, active hands at 6-foot-2 240-pounds, he may not be the biggest or heaviest defensive lineman out there, but he was incredibly tough to block all season long in 2023. He plays with violence, good leverage, and shows a really good motor, getting down the line and showing he can take down the running back from behind. He moves well, sheds blocks, and knows how to attack the quarterback while being a dependable run defender. This playmaking lineman was one of the more productive plays in the region at his position, making an outstanding 81 tackles as a defensive lineman with an eye-opening 23.5 TFLs and nine sacks with eight more QB pressures. He was a force to deal with last fall and should be even better as a senior this upcoming season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570098' first='Cain' last='Jefferson']- Columbia

A long and athletic hybrid defense who can play on the edge with his hand in the dirt or standing up as an outside linebacker, Jefferson is a high-motor defender who can really get after the quarterback. One of the top underrated defenders at his potion in the Atlanta-area, this Decatur native is coming off a strong junior season where he made 60 tackles, 19 TFLs and nine sacks. He was lightning-quick off the snap and used his length and overall size to beat opposing defenses with both speed and power. He brought a promising 6-foot-3 210-pound frame who will only add more weight and muscle over time. He's productive and plays with an aggressive, physical style of play every Friday night. He recorded at least two sacks in three different games with his best game coming in a three-sack performance against Eagles Landing Christian. He has enough talent, size, and skill to play somewhere at the next level and is bound for another impressive year this fall.

Rahdarius Mccoy - Thomasville

He may be on the smaller side, but Mccoy was easily one of the more productive defenders in the Thomasville and South Georgia area across the 2025 class. At just 5-foot-10 and under 200-pounds, Mccoy is coming off a strong junior season for the Bulldogs where he made 61 total tackles along with eight sacks and nine QB pressures. He also forced three fumbles and broke up one pass at the line of scrimmage. He's a max-effort defender who may not overpower opposing linemen, but he can win with speed, quickness, and his effort. He consistently found a way to make plays in the backfield and create havoc against both the run and the pass. He plays bigger than his size and still brings a level of toughness and above-average strength. He's a fun defender to watch and has a chance to have an outstanding senior season for the Bulldogs in his final year.
