Gillis has made his way back down from Maryland to join state champion Lakeland Dreadnaughts who is already stacked at the defensive back position. This kid is another athlete that will fit perfectly with this type of school and confident athletes. On the gridiron, he's a versatile athlete who can get vertical at the receiver position but will make his name known for his coverage skills this season. Watch out for the USF commit to be a problem along with a few other Lakeland DBs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1130892' first='Joshua' last='Perry'] | RB | 2025 | Edgewater | @joshua3perry

We covered Perry as a notable standout many times this offseason and he only carried that momentum into the spring where the helmets and pads are back but Perry only turned it up a notch. He finished Eddewaters's spring game with 9 carries for 123 yards and 1 TD in Edgewater's spring game event. The offers are rolling in for Perry who has developed into one of the better RB prospects in the class.

Giscombe has quickly developed into one of the more coveted 2027 prospects in the area. He has made a recent move over to Raines HS for his sophomore season. His combination of skills and versatility makes his upside intriguing. Giscombe has shown off electric speed, big-play ability, and a lot of potential to develop at the defensive back position with his length and high IQ. I expect a productive season in the interception, pass break up, and tackling departments.

CJ Cresser | DB | 2026 | CAI | @CJCressser

What a way to put yourself on the map. This kid was a lockdown defender last year and has made a move over to Tarpon Springs for his junior season. Cresser has provided solid coverage throughout the season in both man and zone coverages. It's the developing IQ at the position that separates him from prospects his age.

The 6-4, 208-pound junior has one of the better frames and potential upside in the class/state. He led PCHS to an 8-2 regular season finish and has already picked up some Division I offers because of his pocket presence and ability to put throws on the money.

Chance Routson | QB | 2026 | Boca Raton | @1cr3_

Big-time recent offers picked up from this kid who continues to rise and get on college coaches' radar. Routson started behind center as a freshman for Boca Raton last season and has taken that confidence into the sophomore year as he totaled 2,760 yards with 25 TDs. Just check the film, this kid is a gamer with plenty of time to develop.
