Putting in the Work

The 2024 season is a little under two weeks away from starting up across the Natural State. In this article, we are going to highlight several prospects that have been putting in the work over the past few weeks. Preparations for the upcoming season are in full swing across the Natural State and we are going to highlight several of those prospects.   [player_tooltip player_id='401208' first='Samuel' last='Hicks']-Offensive Line-Booneville-2026   The Booneville rushing attack is headlined by impressive offensive lines. [player_tooltip player_id='401208' first='Samuel' last='Hicks'] is an offensive line prospect that uses his power well to clear a rushing lane. He explodes out of the stance and gets into opposing defenders quickly. Hicks is quick enough to get out front of backs on draws and is looking to block at the second level. The Booneville offensive line prospect continues to put in the work each week. Hicks and his teammates were involved in the midnight scrimmage over the weekend. He is a player to watch out for this upcoming season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1258056' first='Makel' last='Ward']-Defensive Line-Wynne-2027   [player_tooltip player_id='1258056' first='Makel' last='Ward'] is a versatile prospect on the defensive side of the ball. He is a prospect that has put his quickness and agility on display at Arkansas State football camps over the past few weeks. He is able to fend off blocks and cause congestion in the rushing lanes. He can spend time at the tackle or edge rush positions this season. Ward is a player that I expect to have a strong 2024 season. I look for Ward to keep the momentum rolling into the upcoming season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1228120' first='Jamarian' last='Vaughn']-Offensive Line-Prescott-2025   Prescott is a team loaded with talented prospects. Vaughn will likely see playing time on both sides of the ball for the Curley Wolves this season. He uses his speed well on both sides of the ball. Vaughn explodes out of the stance and is strong enough to keep opposing defenders out of the offensive backfield. He has had no trouble putting in the work during the offseason. Vaughn has opened plenty of eyes in camps leading up to the season as well. He is a player to watch out for this upcoming season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1265778' first='Jamarius' last='Jackson']-Wide Receiver-Marion-2027   [player_tooltip player_id='1265778' first='Jamarius' last='Jackson'] is a prospect that has had a busy offseason. He does a great job of stretching the field vertically with his speed. Jackson can work the underneath routes effectively as well. He is the type of wide receiver that can turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. Jackson does an impressive job of hauling in everything that is thrown in his direction. The future is bright in Marion, and I expect Jackson to open plenty of eyes over the next couple of seasons. He continues to put in the work each week.   [player_tooltip player_id='1297054' first='Toriando' last='Dunlap']-Quarterback-Dumas-2029   The Dumas signal caller is a player that has no problem playing multiple positions. Over the weekend, he put in work at the wide receiver position. Meanwhile, he is a signal caller that can fit the football into some tight windows. Dunlap is the type of player that can use his legs effectively to pick up yards on the ground. He is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons. I expect big things from Dunlap.
