PRZMD Team Preview: Friendship Collegiate Knights

<p>Friendship Collegiate (DC) gets their season underway this Friday nigh against St. Marys (MD). After going 11-2 last season with their only losses coming to powerhouse St. John Bosco (CA) and Gonzaga (DC), Coach Hunter looks to lead FCA to 3 straight DCSAA Class AA championship. He will look to loaded defense to lead the team all season long. I was able to see Friendship practice earlier this August and get eyes on all these guys and we now take a look at some of FCA's key players for this upcoming fall.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Bryce is Friendships highest rated prospect and he committed to the Univ. of Maryland over this summer. A monster of a player at 6'5" and ~300lbs, he towers over opponents. Bryce is effective on both sides of the ball at both OT and DT, and it looks like MD wants him at DT for the next level. </p>   <p>A nice athlete for his size, Bryce is light on his feet and can get out and go and has plenty of explosiveness of the snap. To go along with his mobility is his elite level strength & power. He is able to get good leverage on guys and generate a lot of power through the hips. Allowing him to either shed/throw blockers off of him or at OL just blow dudes up and send them to the ground. Expect Bryce to continue to be a problem for opponents all season long.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/bdj215/status/1814458299929985291 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Tylil is a player I am a big fan and he may be the most important piece to FCA's defense. A team leader and a player who brings the energy on every down. Tylil has added the bulk going into this season and looks the part on the hoof. Frazier plays fast & physical, flies to the ball and will lay the wood on the ball carrier. He is effective both dropping into coverage, as well as coming downhill and filling. Shows fluid hips with the ability to re-directs and go with minimal loss of momentum/speed. Turns and closes on the ball quickly getting sideline to sideline to track down ballcarriers. </p>   <p>Currently only holding one offer from Delaware State, I expect him to garner a lot more attention this fall. There may not be a more impactful player on this FCA defense and colleges need to take notice. I can not wait to see more of Tylil myself in game this fall.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/tylil_frazier/status/1818089278053736660 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The other piece to Friendship's dominate LB core, Maurice is similar to Tylil in that this defense goes as they go. Standing at 6'0" 220lbs, Calloway also looks the part and is well slapped together LB who is not afraid to hit stick anyone. He is quick to diagnose plays and come downhill like a missile to the ball carrier. High energy, high motor player, Maurice is able to track ballcarriers down all over the field. He has real nice short area burst, allowing to fill/close down holes and stop the RB in their tracks. A good overall athlete, Maurice has quick twitch hips, able to change direction and attack with speed.</p>   <p>Maurice holds a couple D3 High academic offers as he holds a 3.8 GPA and I expect him to garner some FCS/D2 interest this fall with his style of play.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/MauriceCallowa8/status/1733269152406638596 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Dallas is one of this defense's most versatile players. He can line up all over the field, playing at FS/SS or in the slot lined up as an overhang S/OLB. He's got good range being able to cover lots of grass and closes on the ball quickly. A physical player, Dallas does not hesitate to run the alley and lay the wood on the ball carrier. He's a fluid, explosive player who is all gas no breaks on the field. I like Dallas as a hybrid Safety as he shows nice ball skills and good instincts in coverage. </p>   <p>Dallas is another key piece to this defense and I expect him to have a big senior year and should be on a lot of colleges radars.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/DallasK_Minor/status/1824590364226752910 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Larry is a player I got to see a lot of this summer and is a force along the FCA Oline. He has nice size at 6'4" 300+ with lots of power and pop. I wrote about Larry after seeing him at the Bowie State Camp this summer and below is an excerpt from that breakdown on him. </p>   <p>"A strong IOL prospect, he is a Guard who can pull and move in space. He shows good lateral mobility, plays on his toes and has power through the hips. Larry has a strong upper half, power in his punch and once he engages he drives the defender out of the frame. Plays with some nasty in his game as well which you always like to see from your Oline."</p>   <p>Biscoe is a player who still has a ton of potential and should get better as the season goes along. He will be one to get a lot of strong FCS/D2 interest after this fall.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/jr_biscoe </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Brandon is another player I saw a good amount over the summer, he is another versatile and important part of this stout FCA defense. Mainly playing at DE, Lemons also will move into a stand up edge backer. He allows Friendship to line up in multiple fronts and is effective in many ways. </p>   <p>He is another player who brings the juice every down, high motor physical guy. A nice build slapped together player, Brandon is muscled up and put on some good bulk this off season. Moves well, with quick feet and shows some nice twitch. He makes it very hard for the opposing OL to get a clean look at him. Brandon plays with good burst off the snap, runs to the ball and plays on his toes with good COD. Currently holds two D3 offers, once college see his versatility play style and production Brandon will be a hot commodity. <br></p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/1ulbrandon/status/1753618937302925408 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Dameon comes over to Friendship for his senior year after being at HD Woodson for his junior year. He is a do it all player, and makes plays in all three phases of the game. Explosive and dynamic, Dameon is twitched up and has good speed with a recorded 4.5 forty. He can play in the slot on both sides of the ball and is has natural hands. Physical player as well, while may only be 5'7" Simms is not afraid to mix it up and make the strong tackle on defense. </p>   <p>Dameon holds a handful of D3 offers currently, and is overall playmaking ability will lead to him being an impactful and important piece to Friendships success this season.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Dameon1Simms </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Zaire is another do it all player for Friendship, he can line up at RB/WR/DB and will be big time overall playmaker this fall. He is super twitchy with quick/choppy feet. Kennedy also has the speed to take it the house any time he touches the ball, dynamic with burst & speed. Zaire has a recored 4.46 forty so you know he can go once he gets some space. After seeing Zaire at practice this summer, I think I like him best at RB for the next level. In practice earlier this month he took his first carry 45yds for the score after stiff arming a defender to the ground. He also had a similar play in one of Friendships early scrimmages this season, side stepping defenders and taking it 80yds down the sideline for a score. He shows nice patience, vision, and cutting ability out the backfield, and with his receiving skills added to that he makes for a dynamic weapon out of the backfield. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/zaire_kennedy07/status/1828031910045483400 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Chris is a freshman who Coach Hunter pointed out to me right away and looks to be a starter for FCA this season, potentially on both sides of the ball. He is an overall playmaker with a skill set that catches your attention right away, especially for a freshman.</p>   <p class="text-gray-700">A great body kid for a 2028 prospect, Chris has a long lean, muscled up frame. He should continue to fill out will lots of good bulk added as he gets more time in the weight room. He looks to play both FS and WR this season. At safety, he has already shown the desire and ability to run the alley at S and not afraid to get physical. On offense Chris looks to make his impact as an outside receiver, getting vertical and across the middle. A good overall athlete and a strong leaper, Chris will go up and get it showing strong hands with the ability to snatch the ball out of the air.
