Part 2 of our series highlighting some of the top individual performances in the W/NW/N Georgia Area opening weekend. Some are names you have about many times at Prep Redzone some are brand new players that popped onto our radar.

DJ Fleetwood - 2025 TE - Gordon Central

The 6'3 230 TE contributed in a big way to Gordon Central's 62-0 win on Saturday that snapped a 31 game winless streak for the Warriors. Fleetwood hauled in 4 catches for 142 yards and scored 2 TDs, averaging over 35 yards per catch. A big bodied TE with soft basketball hands that has really transformed his body in the weight room over the last year. He received his 1st offer from University of the Cumberlands back in May after a stellar 7v7 season and think more eyes will come his way as he transitions that talent to 11v11 this Fall.

Anthony Bell - 2025 WR - Paulding Co

The 5'11 160 is a late arrival on the recruiting season. He turned some eyes this past Summer earning Outstanding Award at the Recruit NE GA Camp where he outperformed several big name receivers. He was also named to their Potential Senior Breakout season list and showed why in Week 1. Good route runner with break away speed. Watching his film you would never guess he was 5'11 160, looks and plays a lot bigger in pads. Has the athleticism to go up and over taller defenders. Bell can help you at the next level in the return game, good 1st step and fearless in traffic. He picked up a roster spot offer from Bluffton University after his Week 1 performance and we expect more to come later this Fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1566964' first='Zayden' last='Cook'] - 2025 RB/LB - Chattooga County

Cook was named by fellow scout Connor Jackson as a "North Georgia Spring Breakout" performer and the 5'11 195 Senior showed why week 1. He had 22 carries for 202 yards with 2 TDs and added a 46 yard reception in a game that was stopped after 2.5 quarters due to the weather. Cook has put on 15 good pounds since last season which has translated into him be more physical at contact. He posses good speed, was one of the fastest campers in the 40 yard dash last Summer at Shorter U, and good vision at the LOS. A 2-way player that rarely leaves the field on Friday night. Shorter offered him post camp this Summer and he recently picked up an offer from Wofford, 2000 yard potential this Fall for the Indians.

[player_tooltip player_id='869036' first='Tae' last='Harris'] - 2025 ATH - Cedartown

If you follow high school recruiting you are very familiar with Mr. Harris. The #1 ranked DB by Prep Redzone in the latest rankings, Clemson commit, #1 overall ranked DB in the country by some publications, All American had an outstanding opening week. The 6'0 195 ATH had 10 TT on defense, forced a fumble and scored a rushing TD in a 24-3 win over cross county rival Rockmart. Future Star at the next level.

Jameson "Jamie" Hinton - 2026 WR/DB - Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe

A new name on our radar for the 2024 season. The 6'1 ATH is long and lean and has the ability to make defenders miss when he has the ball in his hands. He had 116 yards on 6 catches in the Warriors 19-9 win over Ridgeland on Friday, a game that ended at 2am due to weather. Multisport guy that is an excellent center fielder on the diamond.
