Welcome back to the Northside! [player_tooltip player_id='1274002' first='Cayden' last='Keeth'], a 2025 Quarterback transfer from San Antonio Southside High School, put the city on notice Thursday night. Keeth posted 4 tuddys through the air and 1 on the ground, to go along with 310 yards passing on 17/24. The Pieper senior came out of the gates HOT with his first play from scrimmage going 75 yards to RB, Brady Hopper. It only continued from there peppering the defense with throws to 6 different receivers, 1 of which is the UIW commit, [player_tooltip player_id='913908' first='Isaiah' last='Champagne']. This duo connected on 3 touchdowns and showed how dynamic they can be. The season looks bright for this young man and if he continues like this, he will have offers coming in this fall.

There is no exaggeration of the importance of [player_tooltip player_id='913908' first='Isaiah' last='Champagne'] when it comes to the Pieper offense. The hype is real and I'm here to publicize it! Number 2 in your programs went for 150 receiving yards on 10 catches, and he also had a 100% completion rate going 1-1 with a throw to fellow receiver Andrew Grinestaff. Isaiah really showed his in-game speed Thursday night pulling away from DBs on numerous occasions. The UIW commit has formed a strong bond with his QB in the offseason and it's showing on the field in a major way. D1 coaches have taken notice of the Louisiana transplant, and I wouldn't be surprised if more come knocking as the season develops.

He does not wield a hammer, but this young man has some superpowers! Thor Myklebust, 2026 Defensive Lineman, had his hands full with a Boerne O-Line anchored by, TCU Commit, [player_tooltip player_id='693066' first='Logan' last='Schram'], but he showed that he was more than ready for the challenge. The 6'4, 255lb lineman is a DAWG! I witnessed his leadership throughout the night, and it was fun to see. Myklebust was loud from the sideline cheering on the offense and loud on the defensive end delivering big hits and big plays. Thor has an abundance of quickness, strength and explosiveness which translated to him being in the backfield early and often. He is the ultimate disrupter on that Pieper defensive line. Myklebust is a D1 athlete, it'll be fun to watch his growth the next couple of seasons.

Defensive back, Grant Oling, came out with some swag on Thursday night. The 2026, dual-sport athlete, went 1's with some solid Boerne receivers and came out on top. Grant showed that he has no problem coming downhill and bringing the hat, as he delivered some quality pops under the lights. His skill really shined at the cornerback position, being a sticky, bothersome defender on the pass. Grant won multiple reps throughout the contest with the biggest one being the game clinching interception with 1:43 left in the 4th. He plays the outfield in baseball so it only makes sense that he has a knack for tracking the ball. The 6'1, 180lb defensive back has a high upside on the football field. Keep an eye on him.

That dude, Hopp, can play some football. Brady Hopper showed himself to be a multifaceted running back at The Coliseum Thursday night. Not many start their seasons the way Brady did by going 75 yards on a touchdown reception on his first play from scrimmage, but it was just a foreshadowing of what he is going to bring to the table this year. The junior was a bully in between the tackles all night receiving some big hits and moving the sticks and delivering big hits and moving the sticks. Brady is a North/South Runner and if you let him into the open field, he has the ability to hit another gear and gap your DBs. He led the Warriors in rushing last year as a sophomore. The young man can tote the rock and punish your defense if you give him space to protect against Pieper's passing attack.

John Hamilton, The Heart of the Pieper Warriors. My guy has a raw, gritty 1970's detective moustache and he brings that same energy to the run game. Hamilton will scratch and claw for an extra yard on every carry and you'll never see him below 110% effort on every play. He is the type of player that every coach wants on their team. He can catch the ball out of the backfield, he can run between the tackles, he can block, and he can explode for huge plays. I did not see him stop driving his legs throughout the game, whether it was 1 or 5 players tackling him, John would lay it all out there. The ability for Offensive Coordinator Adam Arteaga to plug and play Hamilton and Hopper gives him fresh legs without losing a punishing runner that can catch the ball out of the backfield. This was the case on what turned out to be the go ahead TD, with Hamilton trotting into the endzone to secure the win.
