Five of Georgia's Biggest 8th Grade (2029) Linemen To Date

Having evaluated pre-high school football talent since 2010, I'm still blown away by the sizes I come across on kids that haven't even started high school yet. Granted, not many of these prospects have a size that is verified--so the size below is either self-reported or listed on a roster. Regardless, the height and weight of many of these prospects are comparable to highly ranked high school prospects, college athletes and even some NFL guys. Size isn't everything, but it's a lot of things.    <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'4" | 255 lbs.</li> </ul>   An enormous athlete who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 255-pounds as of August 2024. Not just a big body, he has excellent feet because of his ability on the basketball court as a big man. Listed as a Defensive Lineman as of now, but he possess the frame to become an Offensive Tackle down the line. Frankly, he's big and athletic enough to play anywhere. Time will tell.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'4" | 290lbs.</li> </ul>   If your nickname is "Bear", you better be a big guy. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Jonathan Mayfield checks that box as of August 2024. There's never a shortage of linemen that come through the Grayson program and Mayfield is in line to continue that. Has been playing Right Tackle during the early part of the 2024 season and appears to be just scratching the surface of his potential.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'4" | 250 lbs.</li> </ul>   As of August 2024, I think there is very little debate as to who football junkies think the top 2029 O-Linemen in the Peach State is. The "little" brother of 6-foot-5 Auburn-commit [player_tooltip player_id='338634' first='Ryan' last='Ghea'], Landon is listed at 6-foot-4 and 250-pounds and has long been one of the most dominant prospects in pre-high school Georgia football. The Quarterbacks in the Milton program have to be happy knowing Ghea is lining up at Left Tackle for the next four years.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'3" | 240 lbs.</li> </ul>   Stepping outside the school-based pre-high school sector in Georgia, the Rarebreeds travel program is comprised of some of the most elite talent in the country--with athletes from various different states. Samuela has assumed the role of Left Tackle early on this season and has a frame that coaches should be drooling over--already 6-foot-3 and 240-pounds and could easily put on another 40 before high school is over.     <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>6'3" | 210 lbs.</li> </ul>   Go ahead and just put the word "freak" next to [player_tooltip player_id='1404764' first='Percy' last='Wilson']'s name. As of August 2024, he's listed at 6-foot-3 and 210-pounds. Dacula has a ton of talent on its squad this season and nobody stands out on film in this young season like Wilson does. While looking into him further, he has been dunking a basketball during games for a while and plays hoops with the same aggression he does on the gridiron. Offensively he plays Wide Receiver/hybrid Tight End. Has a more muscular frame than the majority of high school prospects do in the country. He's impressive.
