In case you didn't know, DeSoto High School is home to one of the nation's top football programs. Year after year, the Eagles are in contention not only for a state championship but also a coveted national championship. With notable alumni such as Von Miller, Jalen Mills, and Byron Murphy II, the Eagles rarely ever lack talent.

They gear up for the 2024 coming off a perfect 16-0 season, including a 74-14 drubbing of Summer Creek in the state championship game. The Eagles have reloaded for this fall and will most certainly be looking to repeat as state champions. Today, I analyzed some of their top young talent in the 2027 class. This is a special group that is or will be national-type recruits when it's all said and done.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='404081' first='Ethan' last='Feaster'] 6'1" 175

If you don't know who Mr. Feaster is you must have been born under a rock. He's not only my number-one player in the state of Texas, he's also my number-one receiver in the entire country in the 2027 class. He's got blazing speed, put together solid production as a freshman against elite competition, and is such an explosive route runner. He's got strong hands through contact, he can adjust midflight to make tough back shoulder catches, and is a natural maneuvering through traffic after the catch. He's a future five-star in my eyes.

RB: Myson Johnson-Cook, 6'3" 220

I've known about Cook since he was in eighth grade, the talent was evident then and it's even more evident now. He transferred to DeSoto from Decatur MacArthur in Illinois after a dominant freshmen season. This is a back that's built like a linebacker and can run through you or around you, he's a decisive off-tackle runner who will stick his foot in the dirt and get north & south if there isn't a soft edge. He's got good speed for a back his size, his legs never stop churning through tackle attempts and he shows exceptional contact balance. He'll be fun to watch this fall playing against some of the nation's top programs.

EDGE: [player_tooltip player_id='378373' first='DJ' last='Rumph'] 6'2" 220

Rumph transferred in from Georgia powerhouse Milton High School and has a ton of upside in my eyes. He's got a great first step, a chiseled frame, violent hands, and loose hips to work around the edge. He'll use his speed to get tackles to overset him, he can dip his shoulder low to the ground to evade an opposing tackle's punch and he's got a highly effective spin move that he'll pull out from time to time.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='402684' first='Kingstin' last='McAdams'] 5'11" 180

An elusive runner that is at his best on off-tackle runs, he's slippery and has terrific body control. This is a tough back who refuses to quit on a run, he runs with purpose and will get vertical if he spots a crease between the tackles. He's patient on gap scheme runs and will let his blocking help set up before kicking it into second gear.
