CPA defeats Brentwood Academy 31-24 in Season Opener

Not even 30 seconds later, Brentwood Academy would also find their way to the house off the opening kick to tie things up 7-7 with 11:34 left to play in the first quarter. The Eagles would pull ahead of the Lions a few minutes later as [player_tooltip player_id='219419' first='George' last='MacIntyre'] put the offense in prime field goal position to take the 10-7 lead. At the beginning of the second quarter, the game was tied 10-10. With 9:56 left before the half, [player_tooltip player_id='212335' first='Easton' last='Jointer'] hauled in an impressive interception and give Brentwood Academy the chance to take the lead. With less than two minutes before the half, [player_tooltip player_id='220692' first='Hutson' last='Chance'] answered for the Lions, completing a touchdown pass to tie things up 17-17 entering the locker room. In the second half, MacIntyre would find the endzone again, running the ball in himself. The Lions would soon take the upper hand off a [player_tooltip player_id='1335216' first='Rawls' last='Patterson'] touchdown. With a final opportunity to win the game, MacIntyre would be picked off by [player_tooltip player_id='1566274' first='Preston' last='Patterson'] as the Lions secured a 31-24 victory over Brentwood Academy. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
