However, for those prospects that DO have film available, talent evaluators like myself are already taking notice. Here are five 2029 prospects in Alabama that I enjoyed watching on film in my film/scouting/evaluation session today.

- Strong, thick build from shoulders down to calves. Has noticeable lower body thickness which allows for good torque when throwing the ball

- Multi-sport athlete that also plays baseball and basketball. Was part of a Fairhope Middle School hoops team that finished 22-0 and won the Baldwin County Championship in 2023-2024

- Throws with a short, crisp, powerful throwing motion--the baseball influence is noticeable.

- Speed and quickness is the immediate takeaway from watching him on film. Has some explosiveness to his game

- In addition to football, he also plays baseball and is listed as a Utility player for the Port City club

- There's a lot to like about Franklin who will feed into Mary G. Montgomery High School next season. I like his build and ability a lot--he's just on the smaller side (nationally) as of August 2024 at 5-foot-7 and 140-pounds.

- One of the most athletic 2029 QBs in all of Alabama that I have seen to this point (as of August 2024) and has grown a significant amount taller since his 7th grade season, a year ago.

- Plays a somewhat unconventional style of QB in terms of fundamentals. There's nothing textbook about how he plays the position, but the results speak for themselves. He makes off-platform throws look mundane

- Speed and dual-threat ability separate him at this point. Was clocked at an 11.8 in the 100m in February 2024 and looks even quicker, more elusive in recent throwing sessions

- Big, athletic kid (6'1, 255 as of August 24) that has the ability to dominate on both sides of the ball as an Offensive Tackle and Defensive Tackle

- Not many O-Linemen in the country can claim an Offensive Team MVP award, but Smith earned the honor during his 7th grade season in 2023-2024

- In addition to his ability on the gridiron, he was also named a Scholar Athlete on the basketball court in 2023-2024. His developing feet on the hardwood surely help his mobility on the football field

- Powerful interior Defensive Lineman with a skillset to play both Nose or Defensive Tackle. Can flip sides of the ball and also has the versatility to play Offensive Guard or Offensive Tackle

- Coming off a very commendable 7th grade season that saw him earn the Lineman of the Year Award for the 2023-2024 season

- Well-rounded student-athlete who has established himself in the classroom as well. Last school year he finished with a 3.6 GPA and earned an Academic Achievement Award, on top of being recognized for his artwork by the Wetumpka Impact Crater Commission
