2024 Season Preview: Breakout Wide Receivers

<p>The 2024 season in the Natural State is just weeks away, with Week Zero starting on August 25th. Prep Redzone conducts thorough research and evaluation to uncover under-the-radar athletes poised to impact the upcoming season. That said, here are five wide receivers that I expect to have a breakout season that catches the eye of college coaches and recruiters.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1370464' first='James' last='Townsend'] is a shifty and quick receiver with the impressive ability to catch vs. contest. Townsend displays solid acceleration on his release with good foot quickness to eat up space quickly. Solid separation at breaks is due to a solid burst and a good ability to change direction. He showcases strong hands with good hand-eye coordination and body control to catch vs. contest or adjust mid-route. Armour displays good acceleration and foot quickness off the snap, allowing him to eat up space and beat his defender over the top. He can create separation off breaks due to good burst, change of direction, and balance. Hardwood displays solid acceleration and burst off the line of scrimmage with smooth route running skills. He's able to create separation off breaks due to solid burst, good change of direction and body control, and opening up a window. He has smooth and controlled route running with good stop/go ability and fluidity to create separation at his breaks, along with good change of direction and balance. Good hand-eye coordination and ball-tracking skills over the top. He displays good acceleration off the snap, quickly eating up space and outpacing defenders over the top. Fleming has good body control, balance, and burst, enabling him to create separation off breaks and opening up a window for the quarterback. His contact balance and active feet allow him to maintain momentum through tackles. With his good upfield burst and change of direction ability, he can create yards-after-catch (YAC).
