2024 KY Week 1 Top Performers: Offense

As of last week, the 2024 high school football season is officially underway in the state of Kentucky! Week 1 provided several key matchups and very impressive performances. However, some players were able to stand out from the rest. With that being said, here are our top performers from Week 1 in the state of Kentucky on the offensive side of the ball.    Nicholas Osborne caught my attention with a very impressive performance at receiver in Bethlehem's win over Marshall County. He finished the game with 6 receptions for 160 yards and four touchdowns. Osborne is a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks to create separation. When the ball is thrown his way, he is able to use his athleticism to catch the ball at its highest point, even with tight coverage around him. Nicholas doesn't currently hold any offers but he should continue to be a player to watch this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='1506779' first='Brady' last='Lee'] had a very impressive start to his senior year, leading Simon Kenton to a victory over Dixie Heights this past week. He completed 21/43 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns. Lee has a very strong arm which he is able to use to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He also puts a nice amount of touch on his passes, putting the ball where only his intended receiver can catch it. Brady also made a big impact in the run game, running the ball 18 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Lee doesn't currently hold any offers but he is a quarterback who college coaches should pay close attention to this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='986857' first='Ridge' last='Holman'] is another quarterback who stood out this past week. Holman led Logan County to a win over Butler County, completing 20/27 passes for 302 yards and five touchdowns. Ridge showed a very impressive ability to escape pressure, showing the ability to scramble outside the pocket while keeping his eyes down the field to make throws on the run. He also showed impressive accuracy, showing the ability to hit receivers in stride where only they can catch the ball. Holman doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should be a player to continue to keep an eye on.     After transferring from Lexington Christian Academy, [player_tooltip player_id='971535' first='BJ' last='Evans'] had a very impressive debut as a Commodore in their win over Eastern. Evans finished the game with 15 carries for 180 yards and four touchdowns. He is a very strong runner, showing the ability to keeps his legs churning through contact to break tackles without losing stride. Once he hits the open field, he has the burst of speed to run away from the defense. BJ currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber prospect.     [player_tooltip player_id='373782' first='Brady' last='Atwell'] is a quarterback who had a very impressive 2023 season and picked up right where he left of this past week. He completed 14/27 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns in Owensboro Catholic's victory over Apollo. Atwell is a very accurate quarterback, showing the ability to hit receivers in stride out of their breaks. He also has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Brady also continued to show that he is a true dual-threat quarterback, finishing the game with eight carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Atwell is committed to play baseball at Western Kentucky but has received Division I football offers and definitely has the talent to play quarterback at the next level if he were to choose to do so.     [player_tooltip player_id='1176943' first='Aden' last='Bolden'] is a player who has been on our radar for a while now and continued to stand out last week. Bolden was dominant in McLean County's win over Ohio County, running the ball 15 times for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Aden has impressive vision, showing the ability to find the running lane and hit it in a hurry once it opens. Once he hits the open field, he has the speed and elusiveness to break off on long runs at any moment. Bolden doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should be a player to continue to watch over the next couple seasons.     Another running back who stood out in Week 1 was [player_tooltip player_id='773246' first='Wyatt' last='Simons']. Simons made a huge position change from offensive line to running back and was very impressive in his debut. He has a true nose for the end zone, finishing Nicholas County's win over Lewis County with 24 carries for 189 yards and five touchdowns. Simons doesn't currently hold any offers but he will be an intriguing prospect to watch this season.     My final offensive top performer from Week 1 in the state of Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='401931' first='Wyatt' last='Robbins']. Despite the close loss to Union County (TN), Robbins was very impressive, completing 24/37 passes for 358 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Wyatt is a very accurate passer, showing the ability to place the ball in a spot where only his intended receiver has a chance to catch it. He also has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. Wyatt doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should be a player to continue to watch over the next two seasons.
