The Prep RedZone South Carolina staff looked at the nearly 10,000 varsity players in the state and picked out our top 75. These are the guys we think will make huge impacts this season and help their respective teams in many different formats.

We will look at the tight ends, wide receivers and quarterbacks that made the list and what makes them stand out.

Tight Ends

[player_tooltip player_id='809747' first='Brady' last='Ambrose'] Catawba Ridge – New Copperheads QB [player_tooltip player_id='1574007' first='CJ' last='Couch'] will have a huge target and safety valve in the 6-foot-4, 230 -pound Ambrose. The senior caught 18 passes for 273 yards with a touchdown and those numbers could increase this season. He will be a prime target in the Red Zone and his ability as a blocker adds another element to the offensive line.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249764' first='Jordan' last='Collins'] South Pointe – Collins can split out wide, play in the slot or lineup tight and be a matchup nightmare from the tight end position. He has speed to burn, great separation and above average hands. He will have a new quarterback that has two years of varsity starting experience so he could send off some eye-popping numbers this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249788' first='Connor' last='Gooding'] Gilbert – The Marshall commit gets better and better every time we look at his film. He's another guy that can line up in multiple positions to exploit matchups. He's a solid blocker but makes things happen with the ball in his hands. He finished with nearly 400 yards receiving and eight touchdowns last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255330' first='Noah' last='Lucas'] Lower Richland – Lucas is an absolute monster with his 6-foot-4, 235-pound frame. He might have gotten bigger in the offseason and that is probably just going to add to his versatility. He's going to be a huge target on short yardage and goal line situations but will also add an additional blocker in the ground game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1157738' first='Mike' last='Tyler'] Hammond – Standing next to a Power 4 coach during Hammond's state championship victory last season, we were discussing what sets Tyler apart from other tight ends. A few minutes later, he snatched the game-winning touchdown from over a defender and we both knew the answer at that point. Tyler is athletic, has great hands and when he wants to be, nearly unstoppable. He should increase his production of 33 catches for 543 yards and seven scores this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249768' first='Keshon' last='Washington'] Summerville – Washington (pictured) is poised to have a breakout season. He wasn't bad as a junior with 31 grabs for 384 yards and five touchdowns, but he will be one of the most experienced pass catchers for the Green Wave this season. He's going to be a nightmare match up with his speed, which has been clocked as high as 22.5 miler per hour.

Wide Receivers

[player_tooltip player_id='1165081' first='Kendall' last='Byrd'] AC Flora – Byrd leaped onto the radar with a sophomore campaign that ended with 66 receptions for 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns. Add in the special team's explosiveness and Bryd was a big play waiting to happen. He is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds and the biggest thing that sticks out is his route running, ability to create separation and outstanding hands. He's inline for another big season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012834' first='Malik' last='Clark'] Rock Hill – We knew Clark had all the tools to be successful but then he went out and won the MVP of the High School Blitz Junior All-Star game and at the Carolinas Coaches Combine in York this offseason. He recently committed to Florida State and the Seminoles will be getting a smooth operator that just makes plays with ease. He had 800 yards and nine touchdowns on 46 receptions.

[player_tooltip player_id='233146' first='Jordon' last='Gidron'] Ridge View – Look at any national recruiting site and the name [player_tooltip player_id='233146' first='Jordon' last='Gidron'] is going to be at the top of the 2026 wide receiver rankings. He's 6-foot-2, 185 pounds and has very few flaws. He's a precise route runner that creates separation, uses his hands away from his body and once the ball is in his hands, he can make defenders miss. He's stronger than he looks and just overpowers and out runs defenders now.

[player_tooltip player_id='377560' first='Donovan' last='Murph'] Irmo – Murph is a big-time recruit that will have several Power 4 offers before it's all said and done. He has a big body at 6-foot-3, 1190 pounds that can right now muscle smaller defenders and he's fast enough to run by guys. All he did last season was catch 57 balls for 1,084 yards and 17 touchdowns. The junior will be in his second season with the Yellow Jackets and that will only help.

[player_tooltip player_id='1012637' first='Jackson' last='Repp'] Christ Church – Not to toot our own horns but toot, toot. We've liked Repp for a long time. People find a way to question his size, but they turn on the film, all they see is Repp finds a way to get open and make plays. He finished last season with 63 catches for 1,510 yards and an incredible 27 touchdowns. He's quick, shifty and finds holes in about any defense. South Carolina recently offered and there should be more Power 4 schools to offer by season's end.

Sellers went down with a season-ending knee injury in week six last season, but he showed enough to commit to South Carolina. But make no mistake that the Bruins coaching staff will be delighted to have Sellers back. If all is well and he's back to his pre-injury form, Sellers brings an explosiveness that is hard to keep up with. He makes guys miss and can take a 10-yard out pattern the distance.

Quarterback

[player_tooltip player_id='272713' first='AJ' last='Brand'] Irmo – The numbers are eye-popping for the Virginia Tech commitment. Last season, he threw for 2,932 yards with 45 touchdowns and added an additional 1,113 yards rushing to go along with 17 scores. He's athletic as he was the starting point guard on the Yellow Jackets state championship basketball team a couple of years ago. He's got a big, accurate arm but also can tuck it and run when necessary.

[player_tooltip player_id='367350' first='Jaden' last='Cummings'] Summerville – Two years ago, Cummings was in a run-oriented attack at Hanahan, but he flourished in his first season starting for the Green Wave. He threw for nearly 3,400 yards and 36 touchdowns in a more wide-open attack. The Dartmouth commit can make all the throws and isn't afraid to try and fit in a tight window.

[player_tooltip player_id='241044' first='Finley' last='Polk'] Northwestern – The Air Raid attack employed by the Trojans fits Polk's skills well. He's 6-foot-2, 185 pounds and is a true pocket passer. The Gardner Webb commit threw for over 2,900 yards last season with 38 touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='272698' first='Will' last='Wilson'] Richland Northeast – Wilson is a dual-threat that is committed to North Carolina State. Last season, he accounted for 3,864 yards of total offense – 2,337 yards passing and another 1,527 rushing. He accounted for 47 total touchdowns. His best attribute is he can make things happen when nothing is there but make no mistake about it, he can make all the throws and has a cannon for an arm.

[player_tooltip player_id='346189' first='Cutter' last='Woods'] Westside – All Woods did last season was throw for 3,915 yards and 42 touchdowns. Oh by the way, he might have more explosive weapons at his disposal this season. The South Carolina commitment is heady, makes smart decisions with the football and can throw dimes into tight windows. His arm angle and precision is what sets him apart from a lot of other quarterbacks.
