St. Petersburg Ready For The Next Step

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As St. Petersburg High head football coach <strong>Denis Gillen</strong> and his team look back on the 2023 season, they must be shaking their collective heads.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finishing 8-3 with a state playoff loss to Tampa Gaither, the Green Devils could have easily finished the regular season 10-0.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Losing to Tarpon Springs in the opener (17-14) and Palm Harbor University (34-33 in two overtimes, it only fueled the rest of the season as thy captured the District 8-3M title and won eight straight before the loss to Gaither.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As this team went into the off-season, the focus was on coming back stronger and finishing off what this team started. After a solid spring and a competitive summer so far, this is a team to look at once again.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If they are going to take things a step further, the senior class (2025) will need to display talent, leadership and experience.
