On August 14, we're going to add a bunch of new names to our Class of 2025 rankings.

We've been cranking on evaluations since our last update in April, and it's resulted in more than 100 players we feel are worthy of a number next to their name in our system. Let's go ahead and slide a few names out early.

Each of these players have gone through our system of checks. We see their importance to their respective teams. And they'll be among those additions with a number next to their profiles very soon.

Mac Winburn LS, St. Joseph's

St. Joe's is going through a decent amount of turnover. But one thing the Knights can count on is having the first leg of their punting game on point. Winburn is among the most reliable long snappers in the state. He's going to end up doing it beyond his senior year in high school because that oft-overlooked part of the game is in good hands when it comes to him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360028' first='Jackson' last='Bonser'] K, Wilson Hall

How's this for a stat - 72-12. The first figure is the number of points Bonser was responsible for last year. He had 48 PATs and six field goals (and a touchdown). The second number is how many points every other returning Baron player scored combined last year. Bonser has room for improvement with accuracy. But if this is the starting point, we're ready for the next phase. Oh, and he led the team in tackles from his spot at linebacker.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360010' first='Joseph' last='Allende'] OL, River Bluff

The Gators were rolling pretty good there at the start of last season. Despite a shutout loss to Irmo, they were still averaging just shy of 40 points per game through the first six contests. The buzz saw that was the second half of the season changed the perception of the team a little bit. We mention all that because Allende - a 6-foot-2, 350-pound guard - is a huge reason to think 2024 will look a lot more like the first half of last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359171' first='Frank' last='Starks'] RB, Hillcrest

Not all that long ago, Starks was in Florida, having a pretty good junior season for Fort Myers. Now, he's relocated to the Greenville metro and is one of a large number of new faces who are going to play a major impact for Hillcrest. We've seen just about every bit of film on Starks available to us, and he won't have to be the guy to be a major player right away for the Rams.

[player_tooltip player_id='929482' first='Kaden' last='Gore'] WR, North Myrtle Beach

There's no denying that Gore wishes he was a little taller. There's also no denying that he's decided it wasn't going to be something that held him back. He led the Chiefs with 601 yards and eight touchdowns last fall and stormed into the offseason. He's picked up three small-college offers in recent weeks and can write his own ticket for this season and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360338' first='Jeff' last='Papin'] TE, Nation Ford

Papin's 2023 numbers (10 catches, 99 yards, one touchdown) aren't resetting the bar. Since the end of last fall, though, he's jumped up to 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds and has simultaneously gotten faster. He was charted at 20.44 miles per hour at the Carolinas Coaches Combines in April and has the makings of a dynamic tight end.

Desmon Washington QB, Keenan

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound quarterback is one of those players in the Midlands were anxiously awaiting to see as a senior. Washington can manipulate his arm angle when necessary and can throw on the run. Earlier this year, PRZ declared him to be the front-runner for his team's MVP honors. We think that's only the beginning.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359146' first='Isaiah' last='McCoy'] DL, Greer

Somewhat lost in the shuffle of Greer's experienced and fully returning defensive line is McCoy. Not anymore. We've had some time to look at the 6-foot-1, 295-pound tackle beyond just his numbers and he absolutely belongs in our rankings. He's got clip after clip of neutralizing opposing offensive linemen and his secondary actions are even better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360369' first='Gavin' last='Stam'] LB, Chapin

Stam is a perfect example of us just missing on a guy. Because after 111 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and four sacks, he should have already been ranked months ago. He's a legit 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, ripped off 31 reps on the bench during an impressive combine performance and is going to have a huge senior year under first-year head coach and former defensive coordinator Ryan Cole.

[player_tooltip player_id='1360286' first='Tre' last='Shepard'] DB, Hanahan (pictured)

The Hawks' senior corner is going to see an expanded role this fall, as he's going to be stepping in on offense to put his athleticism to more use. He's got good wheels and excellent coverage skills, though, so his spot in the secondary will be first and foremost. Shepard will draw opponents' top receivers throughout the season and is ready to show out for one more year.
