PRZPA Team Preview, Dallastown

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: Dallastown went 5-5 last year, but they finished by winning three straight games, including beating their arch-rival Red Lion in the last game of the year. Dallastown brings back a talented group of players, especially the skilled positions. They should be an improved team this season and I expect them to compete for a York-Adams Section 1 Title. </p>   <p><strong>Head Coach</strong>: Levi Murphy </p>   <p><strong>Top returning players for the 2024 season</strong>: </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='142837' first='Michael' last='Scott'] is one of the best players in the 2025 class. The kid is a straight baller as a wide receiver. He also works extremely hard to continue to grow as a player. He committed to Arizona State earlier this year. I am excited to see how he does in his Senior year. Below is what my colleague [player_tooltip player_id='1156407' first='Vic' last='Castillo'] said about him earlier this year: </p>   <p> "Dallastown's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='142837' first='Michael' last='Scott']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/michael-scott/"></a> and former PRZ camp MVP, announced on June 3rd his decision to commit to Arizona State. It's been a joy covering the elite pass-catcher throughout the years. We at PRZ, particularly myself, have had the serious luxury of being able to see Scott grow as a football player and young man, all while watching him climb our ranks without bias. Seeing his hard work culminate to this announcement was certainly special. He has made a huge rise up our rankings because of how talented he is as a player. He plays as both a wide receiver and a defensive back for Dallastown. He makes acrobatic catches look normal. Odell Beckham level catches by going up and making a one-handed catch. He is awesome at 50/50 balls the way he comes down with the catches. On defense, he shows great coverage skills and then makes impressive interceptions. Cook recruitment is starting to heat up, and I expect some offers to start coming his way very soon. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Jalen1Cook/status/1811967518329786461 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='915415' first='Jack' last='Mahoney'] is a talented prospect in the 2025 class. He has great size and length as a tight end. He also moves well for a tight end. He committed to Towson this summer. They are getting a good player. Below is what I wrote about Mahoney earlier this year: </p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='915415' first='Jack' last='Mahoney']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jack-mahoney/"></a> is a good tight end who has a nice combination of blocking and catching the ball. As a pass catcher, he runs good routes and catches the ball well in traffic. He is good at finding the soft spot in the zone and sitting down to catch the ball. Mahoney isn't necessarily a burner with speed, but he runs well overall. As a blocker, he is a nice chest piece you can move around and he can lead block or block on the edge. Mahoney can get better as a blocker and I think he will when he gains more strength in the off-season. He can also be used as a slot receiver. He played a ton of football last year for Dallastown and should play better with that experience. He seems to thrive when the play breaks down. He is good at scrambling around and making a play with his feet, but he does this by looking downfield to find open receivers. His mechanics and footwork are good, but this is an area he can improve in. Kissner has the potential to be a good quarterback this season. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/kodyk_13/status/1802023323817197741 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Chris Cromartie is a talented running back in the 2025 class. He is a dynamic runner who is elusive when he runs with the ball. He has legit speed and when he gets in the open field he runs past defenders. He several times had long runs for touchdowns or big plays. He is also a physical runner who is hard to bring down. Cromartie has the tools to have a strong season for Dallastown this year. He should have a good chance at getting recruited to play College Football with a strong Senior year. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1131803' first='Colby' last='Laughman'] had a strong season for Dallastown last year at defensive tackle. He should be able to improve on this and play at an even higher level this season. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year: </p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1131803' first='Colby' last='Laughman']</strong><a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/colby-laughman/"></a> played defensive tackle for Dallastown last year. He has good strength and he is hard to move off his spot. Laughman also has a great get-off and does a nice job of getting into the backfield quickly. Laughman uses his hands well to engage with linemen and control them at the point of attack. He showed a consistent motor that never stops. He is a good defensive lineman prospect who I am excited to see in the future". </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CLaughman53/status/1803863587179700385 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Andre Wiest played as an outside linebacker and a wide receiver for Dallastown last year. At outside linebacker, he does a nice job of playing in space and reading his keys. He can read his keys and then attack the offense in the run game or drop back in coverage in the passing game. In pass coverage, he shows good coverage skills in both zone and man-to-man. As a wide receiver, he played primarily in the slot and did a nice job catching the ball between defenders. Wiest is a good player who should be even better in his Senior year. </p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/andrewiest14/status/1788676590487970013 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">Antonio Bordonada played as a defensive back and wide receiver for Dallastown last year. At defensive back, he shows good coverage skills. He does an excellent job of getting his hands on the ball when it is thrown in his direction. He also does a good job of coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. At wide receiver, he makes a ton of tough catches. He also is good after the catch by turning upfield and making defenders miss. At offensive line, he played as a guard. He did a nice job of firing off from his stance and blocking interior defensive lineman. He moves his feet and shows good strength by driving them off the ball. At defensive line he is hard to move off his spot and does a good job pushing the pile back. I expect them to be in every game and make them competitive. I also expect them to break through and possibly compete for a York-Adams League title. </p>   <p></p>
