Louisiana's recruiting movement picked up notably this past week as fall camp quickly approaches for the state's high school and college programs alike.

Seven different colleges around the state earned commitments from talented prospects ranging three different classes to help headline the latest news.

Here's a look at the new pledges that caught our attention this week, including those seven and another SEC-bound lineman.

[player_tooltip player_id='401967' first='Jalan' last='Chapman'] — 6-4, 275 OL — Warren Easton (2026) —> LSU

The youngest player on the list capped the weekend with his headline-grabbing commitment Sunday to the home-state Tigers. Chapman, a likely guard at the next level, has become one of the nation's most heavily recruited 2026 offensive linemen during the past year-plus and continues LSU's strong start to the class — particularly in New Orleans.

[player_tooltip player_id='915064' first='Lionel' last='Prudhomme'] — 6-3, 290 OL/DL — Captain Shreve (2025) —> Arkansas

Another versatile trench standout helped kickoff Louisiana's recruiting weekend with his own SEC college plans Friday when Prudhomme, a two-way player for his Gators and one of the state's highest-ranked 2025 offensive linemen, announced his pledge to the Razorbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='291157' first='Jayden' last='Gloston'] — 5-11, 175 DB — University Lab (2025) —> Louisiana (Lafayette)

The Ragin' Cajuns continued their solid summer of recruiting — particularly in-state and particularly in the secondary — with the addition of one of the state's top 2025 cornerbacks. Gloston is a physical corner has been a playmaker for one of Louisiana's top defenses since his sophomore season and whose solid track speed actually helped initially kick off his recruitment that year.

[player_tooltip player_id='148530' first='Zay' last='Martin'] — 5-9, 150 WR — University Lab (2025) —> Southeastern Louisiana

Another key U-High standout who will be staying close to home for college, Martin may prove a notable steal for the Lions following his announcement Friday that he plans to attend the Southland Conference program less than an hour from Baton Rouge for college. Martin is one of the quickest route-runners in the state's class and catches nearly everything thrown his direction.

Armariyan Ausberry — 5-11, 205 RB — Southern Lab (2025) —> Southern

The Outstanding Player of the Kittens' state championship victory this past December announced college plans the closest to home of all this past week when he committed to the Jaguars directly across the street. The powerful running back will continue a longstanding tradition of Southern keeping talented leaders from its lab school on campus at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1214138' first='Fred' last='Clark'] — 6-3, 210 DL — Wossman (2025) —> ULM

Another hometown recruiting win, the Warhawks landed their first in-state commitment for the 2025 football class from just 3 miles down Highway 165. ULM helped kick off the Wildcats' long, athletic edge-rusher's recruitment this spring with his first offer and remained a steady presence throughout the past several months.

[player_tooltip player_id='786466' first='Ben' last='Taylor'] — 6-1, 185 QB — Airline (2025) —> Northwestern State

The Demons landed the commitment of one of Louisiana's top 2025 quarterbacks this past week when the Vikings' prolific passer from just more than an hour away in Bossier City announced his plans. Taylor completed 319 of his 432 passes this past fall for nearly 4,200 yards, 49 touchdowns and just nine interceptions.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598049' first='Jahari' last='Carter'] — 5-10, 180 WR — Covenant Christian (2025) —> Arkansas-Monticello

The Boll Weevils dipped down into the Bayou Parishes for a quick slot receiver and multisport standout with the ability to go up and make plays over taller defenders with his athleticism, high-point timing and strong hands. Arkansas-Monticello has a longstanding tradition of recruiting northeast Louisiana, but landed several 2024 signees from up-and-down Interstate 10 and a couple from the Houma-Thibodaux area and appears set to continue that focus.

Tasmin Showers — 5-10, 170 DB — Mandeville (2024) —> Nicholls State

Mandeville's recently graduated defensive back announced his plans to join the Nicholls State program this past week as a potentially notable late addition to the Colonels' 2024 class. Showers was a promising standout throughout his high school career, but was sidelined by injury his senior year. Showers was recently cleared to return to full action and has the potential to be a difference-maker in the secondary if he returns to his previous form.
