Basehor-Linwood hosted a four-team padded shells scrimmage on June 8.

Spring Hill, Eudora, and Washburn Rural participated in the event supervised by Emporia State University staff coaches.

Here is a look at five linemen who impressed me during the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='285568' first='Jacob' last='Hawks'], OL, 6'8”, 315, Washburn Rural, ‘25

I have no idea how or why Hawks is still unoffered. He is a mountain of man and football does not work out for him, he has a possible career as a professional wrestler or as the guy who makes money posing as Sasquatch. The Rural prospect is currently ranked No. 18 overall and the third-highest-ranked offensive lineman in Kansas. He has had conversations with Division I and Division II programs. He has enormous arms and if he gets them on a defender it is game over.

[player_tooltip player_id='570205' first='Jermarion' last='Lyles'], DL, 6'2”, 250, Washburn Rural, ‘25

Rural's Lyles is currently ranked No. 85 overall in the class of 2025. He is a physical and fast defensive lineman who was in the backfield multiple times during the event. He was using a speed rush to defeat the opposing defensive linemen. Quarterbacks would have ended up on their backside multiple times had it been a full-contact scrimmage. Lyles currently has an offer from Benedictine University.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115450' first='Erick' last='Jons'], OL, 6'6”, 285, Basehor-Linwood, ‘25

Jons is currently ranked No. 71 overall by Prep Redzone. He played left tackle for the Bobcats during the scrimmage. He has long arms and was getting a solid push off the line during the Bobcats' offensive reps.

[player_tooltip player_id='1114817' first='Carson' last='Royal'], DL, 6'2”, 225, Spring Hill, ‘25

Royal is currently ranked No. 319 overall. He played defensive tackle for the Broncos during the scrimmage. He plays with a low pad level and can beat blockers with his speed or strength. At first glance, I would set his ceiling as a NAIA or JUCO recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241213' first='Leland' last='Bradshaw'], OL, 6'2”, 250, Eudora, ‘26

Bradshaw played tight tackle for Eudora during the scrimmage. He will debut in the new 2026 rankings when they are released tomorrow. Bradshaw was impressive as a run blocker and can improve his recruitment stock by continuing to add more upper-body strength. Eudora will be young in the trenches and Bradshaw will gain a ton of experience over the next two seasons.
