Since emerging as the starting QB for Caledonia in 2022, [player_tooltip player_id='1202012' first='Ethan' last='Stendel'] has been the real deal. Stendel had an excellent year in 2023, finishing with 1482 touchdowns, 12 touchdowns, and only 3 INTs, while adding 382 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. Stendel throws an effortless deep ball, and shows brilliant touch on his passes. Stendel shows great accuracy on his sideline passes and hits his targets through tight windows. Beyond his passing capabilities, Stendel is a dangerous QB on the ground, showing great instincts when to scramble and run, and he isn't afraid to fight for extra yardage. Stendel has already committed to play for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Stendel hopes to finish his senior year in Caledonia by leading his team to a state championship after finishing 10-1 last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255902' first='Pierce' last='Petersohn'] already has an impressive frame heading into only his junior year, and he's been the premium standout of Triton's football team over the last season. Petersohn has been a dangerous three-sport athlete, playing basketball and track with great results. On the gridiron, Petersohn shows great athleticism, with a big arm that can stretch the field, and he is dangerously mobile, while keeping his eyes down the field for an opening in the secondary. Petersohn has already received looks from several D1 teams, including Wisconsin, Oklahoma, and Minnesota. Petersohn's skillsets are certainly flexible, and I believe over the next two years that he will devleop into one of the top athletes in the class of 2026.

Playing QB, DB, and on special teams for the Bulldogs, [player_tooltip player_id='551303' first='Alex' last='Hinrichs'] has been very effective on both sides of the ball. The Bulldogs aren't a team that passes the ball a lot, but Hinrichs has proven dangerous as a runner. Playing in the T-formation, Hinrichs does extremely well with selling the fake and boot-legging a long carry. When he does pass, Hinrichs shows solid touch and sharp accuracy through tight windows. Hinrichs has received an offer to play for Wisconsin-Eau Claire. If Hinrichs can build upon his abilities as a passer, Hinrichs will be one of the most dangerous two-way players from outstate Minnesota.

Taite Raasch was a rock-solid leader for the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars offense last season. Raasch slings a very nice deep ball, and stretches the field both vertically and horizontally with great proficiency. Raasch also does well at extending the play, scrambling out of the pocket to try to find a receiver breaking open. Raasch does exceptionally well at hitting speedouts and quick passes over the middle in tight windows. Raasch has already received looks from several D3 teams, and Raasch hopes to maintain his building momentum by delivering a strong senior campaign in 2024.

Chatfield took a bit of a step back in 2023 following a state championship appearance, but the Gophers remained competitive even with the transition toward their new starting QB, Carson Rowland. Rowland is lightning fast, and he will burn defenders for a long run at any given point. Rowland plays his best hitting speed outs with ease and scrambling to make throws on the run, but he isn't afraid to take long shots down the field. If Rowland could build on his arm strength and throwing power, there is no telling how much Rowland could achieve in 2024, and Chatfield could very much be back in the state title at the end of the year with Rowland at QB.

With starting QB Adam Sellner having graduated, sophomore Chase Carroll, who was the only other QB on Rochester Lourdes' roster last season is slated to become the starter in 2024. Carroll has shown very solid work in the weight room, with a 285 lb max deadlift and 245 lb max squat being very good for his age. Hopefully, we will get to see Carroll on the field a lot more in 2024, and he could very much become an outstate breakout candidate this season.
