Jeshi Cater
Jeshi Cater was unbelievable this week. He was playing both sides of the ball, but he stood out the most in the defensive end. His speed off the line was incredible as he would shoot off the line and blow past the left tackle all game which created havoc for Cumberland’s QB. He also took a couple snaps at running back and I could see a lot of potential within that position. He has never gotten help from his O-line, which made it a lot harder for him to be as dominant as he was on the defensive line. Jeshi Cater is someone I want to keep my eyes on as he continues to develop and improve his game.

Tanner Hudson-Ward
Tanner Hudson-Ward
Tanner Hudson-ward had a massive game where he picked up 2 TD and well over 100 yards. His tall, wiry body allowed him to go up and outjump defenders, which almost felt like a cheat code. Tanner’s route running is not as good as some of his teammates, but when it’s time for a jump ball, I feel very confident in throwing him the rock. He has a lot of work to do as he doesn’t have the weight that a 6’5” WR should have and is not as shifty as the other WRs, although he still has a lot of raw talent. I am looking forward to seeing Tanner Hudson-Ward continue to develop as a wide receiver.

Leo Bowen
Leo Bowen
Leo Bowen was the definition of consistency at any time. If his QB needed to make a play he would hit Leo and he delivered every time. He reminds me a lot of a JuJu Smith-Schuster type of WR as you would see him make possession catches and fight for the first down but never really got massive yards after the catch. It felt like every time Scarborough wanted to throw the ball, the QB wanted to hit him with a pass. Leo is a very fun WR to watch and I am excited to see what he does throughout the season.

Noah McKenzie
Noah McKenzie was not utilized in the same way as the others in the game, but I could see a lot of skill in his game. Standing at 6’2″, he is able to get physical, as he was able to pick up a slant in the red zone, where he scored a TD. He only got a few targets, but when he got a pass, he could make a great catch and not disappoint. If it were up to me, I would try and use his speed and physical size for go balls or jump balls, as it seems like a 50/50 ball is a 70/30 ball. I will definitely have to catch another game of his so that I can see him get the ball much more.

Ryan Okore
Ryan Okore
Ryan Okore is a very strong defensive lineman that will wreck your game plan. He would use the bull rush as his mean move to beat the offensive line; however, he was able to break out a couple of other moves when necessary. Game planning for Ryan would be a nightmare as he would beat double teams and still collect tackles for loss. With many kids of his size, you often see them gassing out by the fourth quarter, but not Ryan. He is in great condition, which shows that he puts in the time to stay in shape. I am looking forward to seeing him continue to get better as the season goes on.
