Andrew Coulson
Andrew Coulson
Andrew Coulson was impressive in the win over Scarborough. His arm was what did most of the damage to the Scarbrough defense. Andrew’s strong arm allowed him to blow the top off the defense and hit his WRs in stride. He was also able to hit the short and intermediate routes consistently, which is not a frequent trait you see in QBs his age. Andrew broke out the pump fake, which is a good move if you need to open a WR up. I could only watch him play for 2 and a half quarters until they pulled him, as it was a blowout. I will definitely go and catch another game of his before the season is over.
Connor Hamelin
Connor Hamelin
Connor had a good game running the ball and could pick up a TD from his hard work. I did not get to see a lot of him as he was pulled due to a blowout, but I also watched some of his films. He is explosive, and when he is given space, he will make you pay. He is also able to get physical with the defenders when needed. My favourite thing about Conner is how much raw talent he has. With the way Cumberland develops runningbacks, I know he’s going to be the next one up.
lan Robb Jr
lan Robb Jr
When you take a look at Ian Robb Jr., you can see his big potential, as he stands at 5’10” and 165 pounds at only 14 years old. Ian has the ability to take over a game when he needs to with his strength and agility. I was very impressed with his body control when trying to beat the offensive line. If a coach spends some time with him working on how to break off blocks or develop new passing rush moves, he is going to be scary to watch. Ian was also able to command his defense, which is something I like to see in a young athlete because it shows that he understands the game and what is supposed to happen during each play. I am looking forward to seeing Ian Robb Jr. continue to develop and become even more of a force to be reckoned with.
Liam Peters
Liam Peters
Liam Peters is massive when you see him in person compared to his competition. He dominates the defensive line and he makes them look like they are paperweights. He has so much raw talent that he can tap into if he dedicates his time to his craft. Even with his large frame, he is able to move at a fast pace. I’m convinced I did not see Liam get beat once in his matchups, which made the quarterback’s job that much easier. Liam Peters might just be the next-best Lineman from Canada.
Preston Fonjong
Preston Fonjong
Preston Fonjong was another lineman who caught my eye due to his large frame. He dominated the defensive line with ease. Preston is a fairly athletic kid who can block the DL consistently. With Preston being a more athletic lineman, he can play all 5 OL positions, which makes him so versatile for any team. When paired up with Liam, they are a very dangerous duo to have to go up against. Very similar to Liam, if he spends time developing, he can be another lineman that makes it to the USA, if he wants to go that route.
