Captain Conan loaded up his camel this week to scout volleyball for Prep Dig, but has kept an eye on the Prep Redzone coverage counter.

Prep teams are running their summer weight programs and Kansas prospects are attending camps and combines.

The Captain is excited to feature five ranked Kansas athletes who have not been featured recently and shine a spotlight on their games as we are just a couple of months from football practice getting underway.

[player_tooltip player_id='285724' first='Errol' last='Siemon'], ATH, 6'1”, 180, Eudora, ‘25

Siemon is a versatile athlete who can be utilized in multiple positions. During his junior season for the Cardinals, he played in seven games. He is currently ranked No. 63 in the class of 2025 by Prep Redzone. His future might be on the defensive side of the ball where he can play outside linebacker or safety. He understands his defensive responsibilities and has the speed to rush the quarterback or chase a ball carrier across the line. Siemon recorded 40 total tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in his junior campaign. He also accounted for 86 carries gaining 525 yards and scoring five touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='716600' first='Finn' last='Cusick'], DL, 6'3”, 225, Bishop Miege, ‘25

Cusick is currently ranked No. 66 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025 and is the eleventh-ranked defensive lineman. He is big and strong, but it is his speed that serves as the difference-maker in games. He has an explosive first step and gets off the ball quickly. His speed resulted in six quarterback sacks and 10 tackles for lost yardage during his junior season. He also has a knack for creating turnovers with three forced fumbles, two blocked field goals, and one fumble recovery.

[player_tooltip player_id='442344' first='Jayden' last='Lang'], ATH, 6'0”, 170, De Soto, ‘25

I scouted De Soto's volleyball team this week, so I thought it only appropriate to feature a Gridiron Wildcat. Lang is a quick athlete who can play on either side of the ball and be a factor on special teams. He caught eight balls for 134 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 478 yards on 45 carries. The De Soto prospect scored four rushing touchdowns and is also a solid basketball prospect. Lang I currently ranked No. 73 overall in the class of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='780117' first='Kellan' last='Roth'], WR, 6'2”, 165, Washburn Rural, ‘26

Roth is a long and lanky pass catcher currently ranked No. 36 overall in the Kansas class of 2026. Prep Redzone scouts like his ability to create space against defenders. He has nice hands and runs crisp routes. His size makes him a difficult man to cover in the Red Zone. Washburn Rural graduated its starting quarterback from last season, which could impact Roth's role and numbers in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='267076' first='Calin' last='Arndt'], RB, 5'9”, 195, St. Thomas Aquinas, ‘26 Arndt is a physical running back ranked as the No. 8 running back in the class of 2026. He is ranked No. 44 overall by Prep Dig Kansas. He rushed for 472 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Saints as a junior. He has a low center of gravity and strong legs. He is a north-south runner who can pick up the tough yards.
