Swan Song Seasons is a series we will publish throughout the summer, focusing on incoming seniors who show potential to attract collegiate attention or who have already received significant coverage but are expected to make a substantial leap in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='199882' first='Maddox' last='Hampton'] | Quarterback | Nettleton

One of the most intriguing quarterbacks in the 2025 class from northeast Arkansas is [player_tooltip player_id='199882' first='Maddox' last='Hampton']. Already a renowned baseball player, Hampton brings a calming presence to the pocket with an impressive release and composure under pressure. He maintains great rhythm in all his drop backs and demonstrates supreme pocket awareness, confidently stepping up as the pocket collapses. His film showcases his arm strength and accuracy, regularly challenging defenders in tight windows with impressive precision. Hampton's velocity is complemented by his touch and timing on pylon fades and deep routes over coverage. His athleticism allows him to evade pressure and make strong throws from both sides of the pocket.

[player_tooltip player_id='1068041' first='Cameron' last='Mitchell'] | Defensive Back | Little Rock Christian

[player_tooltip player_id='1068041' first='Cameron' last='Mitchell'] can be described as a quick-footed, fluid defender who excels in press coverage. His tenacity surprises receivers, as he regularly jams them at the line, causing timing issues throughout the offensive progression. His spatial awareness is impressive in both man and zone coverage, consistently maintaining track of his assignment while reading the quarterback's eyes and reacting accordingly.

https://twitter.com/CameronM2025/status/1798085113177428407

[player_tooltip player_id='678817' first='Derrick' last='Jones'] | Defensive Back | Bryant

An all-around player in the Bryant secondary, [player_tooltip player_id='678817' first='Derrick' last='Jones'] will be relied upon this season for his leadership and versatility. At 5-10 and 160 pounds, Jones has the IQ and aggressiveness to excel at the safety position, as well as the footwork and physicality to shut down receivers as a cornerback. His aggressiveness makes him a playmaker in the run game, showing little to no hesitation in making tackles with his high-motor playing style.

https://twitter.com/DerrickJones16_/status/1768331815650025706

[player_tooltip player_id='1011735' first='Cameron' last='Cunningham'] | Defensive Back | Rogers

Cam Cunningham is a defensive back known for his fluid motions and quick, effortless hip swivels. He keeps things simple from a fundamentals perspective and boasts impressive ball skills and timely hits at the point of contact. Standing at 5-9 and weighing 170 pounds, Cunningham showcases impressive acceleration and explosion when releasing out of his backpedal, allowing him to keep ball carriers in front of him and create highlight pass breakups and interceptions with instinctive breaks. He excels in closing speed and has a keen ability to read quarterbacks, quickly shutting down passing windows.

https://twitter.com/camcunningham34/status/1802106902576283768

[player_tooltip player_id='1344499' first='Teshawn' last='Henderson'] | ATH | Dumas

An impressive athlete in every sense of the word, [player_tooltip player_id='1344499' first='Teshawn' last='Henderson'] boasts burner speed, quickly finding gaps to burst into the second and third levels of the defense. Standing at 5-10 and 175 pounds, Henderson's route running sets him apart from average defensive backs, thanks to his impressive acceleration out of breaks, which creates windows on his own, and his strong hands, allowing him to secure passes in tight windows. He doesn't rely solely on his speed; instead, he keeps defensive backs guessing with mid-route hesitations to create space and provide defenders with another look to scout. Defensively, Henderson showcases incredible ball skills and reaction time on balls in the air across all parts of the field. His footwork in all aspects of his defensive game is exceptional.

https://twitter.com/dumasbobcatsfb/status/1802067196094419453

[player_tooltip player_id='392414' first='Eli' last='Brooks'] | Tight End | Bentonville

[player_tooltip player_id='392414' first='Eli' last='Brooks'] (6-3, 220) is an impressive tight end with surprising athleticism, making him one of the more underrated recruits in the 2025 class. With a recorded 4.5 40-yard dash, his route running stands out, showing fearlessness in running seam routes against the secondary and taking hard open-field hits to make impressive catches. Brooks consistently sacrifices his body to make plays, absorbing defenders' best hits to complete explosive receptions. In addition to his offensive prowess, Brooks is an exceptional blocker with a strong base, effectively using his legs to drive defenders out of plays.

https://twitter.com/EliBrooks40/status/1803559878817960075

[player_tooltip player_id='1418180' first='Malik' last='Matthews'] | ATH | Mineral Springs

Coming off a season with over 1,500 all-purpose yards, [player_tooltip player_id='1418180' first='Malik' last='Matthews'] is set to be an impact player, offering his coaches a wealth of versatility to explore. Standing at 6-0 and weighing 185 pounds, Matthews has played snaps at defensive back, running back, and receiver, showcasing impressive talent in all positions. His elite speed is a game-changer, and combined with his vision to exploit gaps and outpace slower defenders, Matthews excels at running back, frequently making long touchdown runs. His size and ability to consistently win 50/50 balls make him a formidable receiver, putting defenders at a disadvantage. As a defensive back, he demonstrates a strong understanding of the game, knowing when to go for interceptions and when to bat balls down. Matthews' length and speed make it incredibly difficult for opponents to complete passes, as he can quickly close gaps and disrupt plays.

https://twitter.com/Malik_2312/status/1776044014480797710
