The new look Region V-4A is loaded with talented teams which also means it's loaded with talented players. Each team had multiple candidates that ultimately could end up as MVP of their respective squads, but there is a look at skill position guys and some defensive players that are some of the best in the state.

Here is a look at the players we think can build on a successful 2023 campaign and give their teams the best hope in 2024.

CRESTWOOD KNIGHTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1012863' first='Jeremie' last='Richardson'] WR, 2025

The Knights had a high-flying offense last season with a solid mix between the run and the pass, but graduation has taken most of those player-makers with them. In steps Richardson, who was the leading receiver with 49 receptions for 946 yards and six TD's. Crestwood finished 11-2 last season and Richardson will be a big key in 2024. He can play outside or in the slot and creates a lot of mismatches. He plays fast and makes people miss a lot of tackles. Richardson will also play defensive back.

DARLINGTON FALCONS

[player_tooltip player_id='1254005' first='Treyshawn' last='James'] DL, 2025

James might be a little undersized at 5-11, 185 pounds from the defensive end spot, but he has a high motor and makes plays near the line of scrimmage as well as when in space. A quick first step and quick acceleration make him a hard one to block. The Falcons went 4-7 last season and James will be counted on to lead a defense that improved the latter part of the season.

HARTSVILLE RED FOXES

[player_tooltip player_id='272699' first='Da'Marion' last='Coe'] DB, 2025

It's almost a take your pick on who the MVP for the Red Foxes might be, but Coe (pictured) is a reason a lot of Power Four coaches are stopping in Hartsville on a regular basis. He can play on an island, or he can read the quarterback and close on the receiver to make a play. Coe is 5-foot-9, 175 pounds and not only leads a stingy defense but is a threat on special teams.

LAKEWOOD GATORS

[player_tooltip player_id='1578926' first='Cedric' last='Cisse'] DB/WR, 2025

The Gators might have finished 2023 with a 2-8 record but first-year coach Willie Offord is making strides. And Offord is one to know something about playing defensive back as he played that position in the NFL. Cisse is also a talented basketball player but plays well in the middle of the secondary as well. He reads the quarterback well but also doesn't mind coming to lend support against the run game.

LOWER RICHLAND DIAMOND HORNETS

[player_tooltip player_id='1255330' first='Noah' last='Lucas'] TE, 2025

Lower Richland struggled to a 2-8 season in 2023 but it looks like coach Marlin Taylor has reloaded the talent in Hopkins. You don't find many teams where the tight end is in the conversation for MVP, but Lucas bucks that trend. At 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, Lucas is an athletic freak. If the Diamond Hornets utilize Lucas, he could be a nightmare matchup for any defensive coordinator in the state.

SOUTH FLORENCE BRUINS

[player_tooltip player_id='809742' first='Amare' last='Adams'] DL, 2025

The Bruins are another team that has multiple options at MVP. But we decided to go with Adams because his sheer size and strength can change the way offenses try to attack. The Clemson commit is one of the top five ranked players in the 2025 Class. He stands 6-foot-4, 305 pounds and can dominate the line of scrimmage most any time he feels like. He has the power to run through a blocker and the speed to get around one.

WILSON TIGERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1362467' first='Divine' last='Gee'] LB/WR, 2025

Gee might be a two-way player, but his biggest impact is on the defensive side of the ball. He is 6-foot, 170 pounds but seems to play much bigger than that. He loves contact and is disruptive with a quick first step. He reads and reacts well. His biggest attribute might be the impact he makes when he meets the ball-carrier. Gee hits hard and wants you to remember he's waiting for whoever might have the ball.
