June Rankings Update: 2027 Linebackers

We continue to cover our rankings update in the state of Arkansas for the class of 2027. In this article, we will showcase the 2027 linebackers with analysis. Over the next month, I will breakdown these rankings by position in each class with other segments included.     [player_tooltip player_id='710707' first='Rae' last='Parson'] is an exceptionally versatile athlete, experience at both linebacker and running back. Ranked as the 10th overall player and the top in his position in Arkansas by Prep Redzone for the class of 2027, Parson showcases a sideline-to-sideline motor with good angles to pursue and chase down ball carriers. He stays squared inside the box, using his hands effectively to engage and quickly disengage from blocks to make plays. His awareness extends to the outside, where he can direct plays into traffic or execute tackles in space with impressive physicality. In zone coverage, he demonstrates good awareness, athleticism, and lateral agility to adjust and switch effectively. As a running back, he shows a strong one-cut ability and the vision to find running lanes behind the line of scrimmage. Gaines possesses a quick first step, allowing him to quickly read and react downhill. He's able to shoot the gaps effectively while staying square, showing physicality with the ball carrier. He is a good open-field tackler, consistently flying to the football and making plays in the backfield. In coverage, he maintains a keen awareness, ensuring everything stays underneath and in front, which positions him well to potentially force a PBU. Caston showcases very good play speed and athleticism, demonstrating the ability to quickly shed blocks and make a play. His relentless drive, good angles, and style of play consistently place him in a position to impact the game. He's able to transition to zone coverage quickly, displaying good change of direction and control, due to his good read and reaction ability. He possesses a solid sideline-to-sideline motor. A reliable tackler both in open spaces and congested areas with good technique and angles. His transition in coverage is effective, due to good awareness and football IQ.
